Re: Project 1 Prelim

I definitely prefer the green design. Something about the simple shapes paired with the slightly angled edges give it a lot of personality. Especially because I think the picture color tone works better than with the orange personally.

Re: Project 01 Preliminary Critique

I like both the first and third designs pretty equally. They're both good for different reasons, but I lean towards the third. Something about the contrast with the white and the more 'adult' colors really work well. I think the layout is straightforward as well. As for the first, I would just try a...

Re: project 1 preliminary

The clean design looks nice and formal, very professional. However, I definitely like the sketchier one more. You could definitely combine that visual style with some other elements like VHS Video overlays or Pixel filters for a really neat aesthetic. Either way, both designs are strong for differen...

Re: Project One Preliminary Critique

The black and white design is definitely stronger if you ask me. What I would do is try and minimize your elements a little bit. The majesty of your mountainscape is being a little strangled by how close all of your elements are together. The angular design style is really cool, but I think if they ...

Re: Project 1 Preliminary Critique

I like both designs fairly equally, to be honest. One thing I would try though is on your web versions, try having your navigation bar span across the whole page. Having it stop abruptly half way through the page is a little odd. Or you could give a very clear and hard-defined break in the middle, s...

Re: Project 1 - Kyle Jennings

I definitely like the orange composition better. The color palette works really well together and the organization is strong. Especially the shape of the background image gives my eyes a nice comfortable arc to follow through with, so you might want to try and use that as an organizational tool with...

Re: Project 1 Preliminary Critique

I think if you're going to pull the color from your illustration, I'd recommend dialing it back a bit. Both the pink and the green look nice, but both of them also look a little overpowering compared to the overall lightness of the design. The large weight of the block of color, especially being pos...

Re: Project one preliminary

I really appreciate the muted colors of the second design, but I also am very fond of the layout of the first design. If you could, seeing as the elements are similar, it might be a cool idea to take your favorite elements from both and combine them together. Either way, both designs are solid!

Re: project one prelim

I for sure think the tech-inspired design is more solid, the main issue that sticks out for me is the colors clashing a bit. The logo blue is subdued, which pushes it to the background, and the pattern blue is vibrant, so it jumps forward a bit. So my eye is a little unsure on what it should focus o...

Re: prelim- project 1

The typography design is super strong to me. Between the energy of the layout combined with the high energy of the chosen colors, it feels scattered yet cohesive. It's very creative and I think it's worth developing for sure.
