Hi all, these are my web roughs. In my design I like to use bright colors and shapes to give a clean and cheerful appearance. Tell me what you think and hope you enjoy!
These are two inspirational websites I found:
http://www.danielspatzek.com/Home
http://andrevv.com/
The first one was inspiring because of how complex and well thought out it was, you could tell that hundreds of hours of work were put into it. The second one was inspiring because of how breathtaking it was for how simple the design was, really nailed minimalism on the head.

Geometry! It looks like crystals.
The geometry of your second one is really quite cool, Brianna. Go with that one! Your pastel colors work really well. There are enough lights and darks to establish contrast, but the fact that everything is colored really softens it and takes the edge off the sharpness of the crystals. The whole thing has kind of a Steven Universe as imagined by Justin Maller vibe to it. I really do like the crystalline structure though. It does a great job of containing the navigation and gently leading the eye through the site's content. The patterning in the different crystals also helps to establish some good contrast and visual interest. I like your typography, too. You chose your font well and it works with the design to soften the edges of the crystals.
Watch the margins on your bodycopy. It's really tight with the crystals on the left and the edge of your document on the right. Add some margin there to give your paragraph and your crystals room to breathe. Also watch the left margin on your titles. The only area where your chosen font is not working for me is the fine print at the bottom. The letters look really smashed together. Check your tracking and kerning and see if theres any issue there.
Cool! So crystalline.

OOOooooooooOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....
So nice. So crisp.
I like the colors from the top one, but I want them on a pastel background on the second. ya feel me? idk, I think the teach said the colors were fine so it's dealers choice.
I really like them both though. Excellent designing, dearest.
Design on.

Re: Preliminary Critique
aye babes.
I like your color schemes for both designs. I personality like the second one because of the shapes! Although I feel you could push the design further. I was thinking that you might align your text on the lower right side and make the text smaller? But overall, I "like a da way your websites look man". hahahaha

Re: Preliminary Critique
Hello Brianna, I love the effort you put into making the rough drafts! I personally like the second one because how you used the color schemes, makes my eyes relax, theres not a lot of tension in the relation between the colors, wonderful background. but the one thing is that the shapes next to your paragraph is very distracting. But great job!

Hi,
The geometric design is so cool. Love that! The colors you used really stand out and give good contrast. Really creative design. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Hi Brianna, I like the shapes, and the colors you did in both...Pretty cool. I think I am leaning more towards the second rough. I like all the colors, the design is different too.

Re: Preliminary Critique
Second one is vibrant with colors and I like how alluring that is. The use of shapes give it a unique look and makes me wonder if later on you plan to turn those into rollovers, highlight show a preview of the project maybe? Fonts are something I think need to be played with more, body font is thin and I might lose it with the background.

Re: Preliminary Critique
Between the two website templates you created, the Second images I say if far more devolved and better structured for the web. The first template has alot of work to do if you are going to go with it. Starting with using a better body font that makes it easier to read. As for the design I fell like your first template is lacking detail and depth compared to your second Template. Whats nice about your first template is how organized everything thing is. Now onto the second template the design is extremely nice for this template I really enjoy how it looks, but it is missing overall unity and balance the placing of the links and projects dont mix well and should maybe me moved around the differant diamonds you have in the template. Lastly dont forget to include a picture of yourself in your final template.

Hi Brianna,
I'm really loving your second design! The diamond shapes combined with such vivid colors remind me of gemstones. That combined with your use of a pastel background helps make the shapes stand out. However, I would change the color of the text within the diamonds as it is a bit difficult to read. Perhaps a lighter version of the shapes' color, but not pure white.
Great work and I can't wait to see the final product!
