Final Project 02

It's not the best it can be right now, because I struggled with my HTML and CSS. I couldn't figure out why my footer text did not want to align to the right, even though I put in the CSS to align to the right. As for my project text links, I couldn't figure out how to place them inside the diamonds. Not proud of what I have right now, but I'll work on improving it.

You've got good bones here, Kassandra. And I think as you learn more, you'll be able to better your layout and design.

A bunch of the good bits of it have come through though. The basic layout is a strong one with a good footer that frames everything and simple, easy to follow placement of objects. It's also pretty liquid and looks decent at a bunch of resolutions. I especially like the way it gently fragments as the resolution goes up. Your colorscheme is strong and it shows it here as well. The background color is pleasing and the foreground colors work well with it. Your portrait is working well too. It looks like you're just kinda' hanging out on your design. It gives the whole thing kind of a chill vibe even though the design is super angular and clean.

I think your footer issue stems from the fact that you wrapped your footer text in an <article> and it's inheriting the style of your article tag style in your CSS. I think if you did a targeted compound selector of "footer article" and modified just that article tag, you'd have better luck. As for your diamonds, put together a three button <nav> and make the buttons the same dimensions as your diamonds, then insert the diamonds as background images using class styles. You'll keep having trouble putting your text over the buttons if you have them in as foreground HTML images like you do currently.

I hope that helps!

You've got a good start here.

Hi Kassandra,
You've done a nice job of getting your designs to a functional webpage without having to change too much. I hope you figure out what you need in order to get your site even closer to your designs, it's such a cool and unique look.

Hi Kassandra,
Your website is nicely organized. Even though you say you aren't happy with it you put up a nice layout. Your links are there, the colors and fonts look nice too! I like that it is all centered and easy to see.

Oh, Cassandra! This is actually really nice. It's a struggle and a leap with coding for sure however it's really good. I mean the media query leaves the paragraph super skinny and hard to read but that is a simple fix in your code somewhere. Good job!!

Hi Kassandra,

I know you said it's not at the point you had hoped for, but really for a first website its pretty damn strong. You managed to get all your links connecting, its very close to your original design, and you got your fonts working! A win in my book for sure

Hello Kassandra,
This looks good! I really struggled to get things where I wanted them to, and looking at your website, I think you started strong. The colors are great, the fonts look like what you used in the preliminary, and from what I can tell, most of the parts are where you would want them. The only things I see are the navigation buttons and the footer. The nav buttons aren't in your diamonds, but Michael helped me with this. Set the squares as a background image and it'll be easier to put the nav buttons in the middle. The only other thing I notice is the footer. I would set it to the bottom, so that way it's not in the middle of your screen. Great job!

Hi Kassandra!

I struggled a lot with aligning things to certain sides too, coding is definitely not fun sometimes lol. But what you have done is still really cool! You did a really good job applying your project 1 design to the website and I love your photo and the lines on either side of your text! You have really good designs, awesome job :D
