Hello class!
My name is Giselle Sanchez, and I went with the pastel design. I took many of your suggestions and fixed my little issues on my first design. I changed the color of my picture to a duotone of the pastel purple in my background. It made a huge difference, and now my profile picture goes great with the rest of the layout. I also changed the type and lines to a dark purple. My typeface is more legible, and it goes great with the dark parts of my picture. This solves the project’s problem because the home page layout includes color, room for different links, and future projects. It also gives good contrast and hierarchy to each of the elements in the design.
These are the two informational websites I found educational!

The first website helped me understand the basics of getting started on a good homepage design. The one suggestion that stood out was finding a good color scheme! The second website educated me on grids and how it’s important to have organized content.

Hello Giselle!
I really like the lavender background. Just one suggestion...I would have moved the TMCC logo to the bottom of the page. Other than that, you did a good job with this design!

Hey! You used the purple one. Nice! You declared yourself a "graphic star" on this one too.
The purple pastel works really well here. I like that you made your photo a purple duotone. It goes better with the rest of the composition this way. Also, the dark type and graphics are a noticeable improvement. They work so much better with the pastel and provide great contrast. I like your serif typeface choice as well. It makes the website feel like an antique book. Good use of type sizes and weights to promote a good hierarchy. You also have pretty good margins through this whole this as well. Nothing ever feels crowded. It looks like the design's mobile first too, so it collapses nicely down from computer into mobile layouts.
I think your computer layout would have looked a little better if you had scooted the bodyopy over to the left so it's left edge was more in line with your email's left edge. As it is, it's a little fragmented in the middle.
Nice work!

I'm so happy you chose the light purple version of your two versions. The light typestyle with the purple background creates a fun, inviting atmosphere for your website, loving it!

I like how clean and simple this layout is. Your play on top for the Web Design and Publish I is very elegant and nice looking. Also it's a good personal photo of you too!

Hello Giselle,
This gives a very literary feel to the page composition, presenting the information in a very readable and easy to navigate way. The typeface is simple, yet elevated with the use of that shade of purple. Way to go!

Hi Giselle
I really love the color you used for your background as well as keeping with the same shade for your picture as well as your text. it really unifies the entire page. The font you used is very interesting and I like how you set up the page. my eye very easily flows through each of the different sections of your website

Hi Giselle! Love your layout and color choice! The only thing that really stands out to me is everything feels a bit too unified, with your picture being the only source of contrast. To even that out, maybe making your head text the same light color in your picture would help to balance it out a little. Amazing job!

Hi giselle!!
I love that font! It's simple but does a nice job of balancing the blue in the background!! Plus with the layout you've gone with it does and excellent job of visualizing a solid hierarchy. Only thing --is there a way to move the photo up a little bit in the website version? Without your chin it looks like an accidental crop. Overall, fantastic job!!
