Justin,
The first layout is organized well and I think the color choices blend nicely. Your second layout with the downtown image is really clean, although I think the positioning of the text just above your navigation buttons could be staggered differently without the overlap. Overall really great concepts!

I think that the first layout suits your design style best. The type choice and illustrations are great. The type color is too close in value to the background, perhaps you can try a darker green or maybe a different color scheme all together.

Hi Justin,
The first layout looks great, it looks very crazy organized. I like the way that you try to mach into the artistic style along with your drawing project. although, I am not sure about the frame that you put on it, I thing it is to thick, i could suggest to play a little more with the thickness of it in order to make pop up the drawing. I like the typeface that you use in your name but I think the contrast that you do with the other type face in "175, 1, and 2013" does mach really well, also I am not sure about the buttons because all your layout is about straight lines and the oval buttons look like does not belong to the layout.

On the second, I like the way you play with simplicity, it looks really clean, I like the minimalist style that you try to play with, i like how the red type pop-out in the layout, also I like the way you overlap the type in order to make unity between it. BUT... in the building of El Dorado i am not sure about the red color that you put on it. I think because the building is so far away of focus in the picture and the red color is to heavy and too much...i do not know...anyways, good job in both of them... personally I like the first one

Wow Justin! great layouts is hard to choose one both of them look really cool. but in this case i would pick the first one because it shows a little of your creativity work. That image of your drawing expresses what I'm sure is what you love to do. Drawing!

I think your second one rocks. The first one's color scheme hurts my eyes a little. I find the shapes in the second layout lead my eye in all the right places.

Justin, I have to say that I'm really loving the concept of your first design, and it definitely seems like a personal website. However, the colour scheme values are too similar to one another that they would run the risk of melding into each other and making it difficult to navigate or even read your site, and the leading of your paragraph text would probably have Dan coming after you. Maybe try making the background the paragraph sits on a lighter and neutral yellow colour? Your name also risks getting lost, a stroke around your letters might help it to stick out more.

Your second design is also very good, but the GRC and Web Design text just isn't working out, it looks like they are all floating there and colliding against one another. Other than that the rest of the website works together very well, and I am liking the touches regarding pulling out the natural red lighting of Reno's casinos.

Hi~
On design one, I like the van graphic in the tree: it reminds me of the van in Scooby Doo. Both of the designs are very well thought out and cohesive. I'm leaning towards design two if I had to choose, although I don't think you can go wrong with either of the designs. I especially like the typefaces you've used in your designs - very effective use of typography.

The suggestion I have for both of your designs is to correct the way you are using the TMCC, Facebook, and Twitter logos. On all three, you're not following the acceptable use guidelines for these trademarks. I couldn't tell what the fourth logo was for, but if it is a trademark, I'd suggest reading use policy for it. Here are links to the relevant information for Facebook, Twitter, and TMCC:

Other than that, I really think your designs stand out and are well thought out. Nice work. A.

Hello Justin,

Both designs are very interesting. on the first design, I really like the way the tree house makes the font you choose for your name belong with each other. the color scheme is uncommon for a webiste, but with this design, it wors very well. Something I would do differently is fade the TMCC logo aobut 50% more than what you have for it not to compete with the content.

The second design is my favorite. I love the color scheme you chose, and the way you chose to emphasize the image by bringing up the words with the red. The only thing I would change or adjust would be the content to make sure the last word of the content is not on the building.
