Hi all,

Here are my roughs for Project 2. My web design re-do is a company based out of Hawaii called Shop In Paradise. They sell coffees, teas, bath and body care, souvenirs and food items. This website was a struggle for me as it is completely overwhelming. I decided to focus on the products which were the obvious primary items such as coffee, tea, and body care.

Here is the website: http://www.siphawaii.com/

I tried to use colors and images which made my audience think of Hawaii and the islands. My target audience are travelers who visited and experienced something there that they loved and want to enjoy at home, every day.

Hello Donna:

I really like the first layout, it looks awesome, I like your scheme color and how you play with little content in order to make a good looking layout. Good Job.

Hi Donna - There are so many great things working in both of your concepts, but I do like the first set best. Your header and footer areas are clean and elegant, while the photo in the middle is exactly the kind of stunning image that this stupid website should focus on (sorry, I had to rant a little about the original site). I can't even think of an improvement to suggest - go with it!

I keep enjoying looking at your roughs. Old site looks so messy. Your versions very clean, relaxing. You achieved your goals on A+

Donna,

Both layouts are different and show a real understanding of your intended audience. I think the imagery of the first layout makes it stand out over the second and the color scheme is really relaxing and says "paradise". You might want to think about moving the "US" on your navigation up to the same line as "ABOUT" and just working on the spacing. Very well done.

Hi Donna!

Both layouts are beautiful, but I think I like you first one just a little bit more. Maybe you could just balance out your header a bit more? But that's it! Great job!!!

Heya Donna.

I really like your overall design on the first one. It's neat and very professional looking, and you've chosen great images for your link buttons. I'm not a big fan of the big huge flower, even though I know you're going for that Hawaiian feel. It feels too repetitive of the flower in the logo, and almost too off topic, since you are representing a coffee place here. I think it'd be cool if you could get a woman with a flower in her hair sipping a cup of coffee, or something along those lines. I love that background image on the coffee page! Although I'm a little confused as to the navigation on it; what am I supposed to do from this page? Maybe having a bigger blurb at the top, explaining that clicking on a coffee type will take us to another page so we can learn more or add to cart or something will help.

The organization is really clean on the second one, and the colors are interesting and complementary. I'm a little concerned that if the body container gets longer to accommodate copy, the links won't be visible and that could throw some people off.

Personally, I like the first one a lot better.
