Hello Everyone,
Here is my project one final. I didn't do much to this, changed the fonts to Marienda Bold and Regular for headlines, projects, links etc. I used Arial Narrow for the body copy and Arial Italic for the quotes. I added text to my paragraph and moved my image over. Tightened up some areas to lessen the negative space. Also left room for adding content later in the semester.

Hello Michele,
I like the minimalism of your design: black and white with only a touch of color to brighten everything. It looks nice! You made the citations in red, perhaps your contact information should be of that color instead? I think the contact information is very important in a portfolio, it should be immediately visible.

Looking good. You chose the best of your two designs.
The contrast is still working wonders, as always. I still like the way the red, white, gray, and black interact. Your navigation is in an unusual place, but it makes up for this by being large, easy to find, and easy to use. The flow is still strong as well. My eye goes in a series of S curves over the document now. I like the Mondrian-esque stack of blocks look of the thing. It helps denot separate sections and highlight what is important and what is not. Your logo is strong and works well with the composition. Your sans-serif bodycopy font is well chosen and works with the hard edges and geometry of your composition.
I'm not sold on your headline/title/navigation font though. It seems very brush stroke-ish and doesn't seem to play well with your super clean, geometric layout. Also, I think you have a little too much space between your paragraphs and quotes and it's both disjointing all of them and creating bottom margin issues with you last Tolkien quote. I'm also not fond of the ampersand on it's own line in the class text on the bottom right.
Not bad!

Hi Michele:
I'm still really digging the colors! Everything is crisp and nice to look at. Great idea with TWO nav bar locations. I like the quotes in red AND where you put them. They tie in the red to the side of your page that is mostly black & white. Nice work!

Hey Michelle! Good job I think the color scheme works well with the Reno arch photograph. I think you have used the rule of 1/3's (hope I'm not using that wrong) which really organizes everything strongly.
I agree that you may want to play with your font and your hierarchy a lil' but overall it's a very streamline and effective design.

I like your overall layout; it's nice and balanced. I also like that you put neat quotes. I feel like a more simple headline font family would mesh better with the minimalist yet artsy feel of the cool Reno photo. I like your personal logo as well.

Hi Michele,
I think you made a good choice going with this design. Your color choices work well together and you're on the right track. I'm having a hard time with the Marienda. It's possible that if you just make it a little smaller it could work better, that also might help with the issue of the ampersand having its own line. Nice job cleaning it up overall.

Hi Michele!
I love your color choices! Can't beat the classic red, black and white color scheme. My advise is work the headline a bit more, there's just a lot of wasted space.

I don't really have much to say from what I said last time! I still really like the contrast between the black and white and the red tyoe, and how the body copy is framed between your header and lower image. The only thing is the body copy is a little small compared to the rest of the type on the page, and making it a little larger may make it easier to read.
