Project One Final

Post by BreeAnn »

Hi Everyone!

I decided to go with my self portrait for my final design. I didn't make a ton of changes other than the one thing many of you commented on. I made my navigation slightly larger and bolder, and I moved the "recommended reading" up. I'll probably just have that as a link as time goes on in this class.

Thanks!

Ah cool. You chose the distressed image one.

That resizing and vertical tightening of your navigation has fixed my biggest gripe with your design. Good! You now have enough clearance form the bottom of your navigation to the couch without compromising the usability of your navigation. The distressed faceless image is as disquieting as ever, I see. Cryptids indeed. Good choice of the typeface as well. A typewriter typeface gives the whole thing a mysterious dossier feel, like this thing is a picture from a report on the mysterious faceless people. An X-File perhaps? Everything is the layout is so well placed and has such good proximity. Not to close and not too far on anything.

I'm not sure about the size of the bodycopy. I'm curious to see how big it is once this thing get's built into a "real" website for Project 2.

Nicely done!

Hello BreeAnn,
Great design! I really enjoy the layout and how the image stands out. I also enjoy that all your text is white, it makes your entire page uniform and good looking. Perhaps the page that the user is on should be shown by a different color? But I really enjoy the way your final design looks.

I like the changes you made. Text doesn't seem to compete with the image. And the image has an edginess to it that makes you want to look to figure out what is going on - attention grabber.

Hi BreeAnn:

What can I say? It looks great! Because of your color choices, your nav links look lit up, not bold. It's a really cool effect. I'm a big fan of the B&W and you've used contrast really well so that it's not overwhelming and too much to look at. It really POPs where it should, and it provides calm gradual transitions for the eye to follow. Super job, love it!

Awesome! Striking image that invokes a lot of emotion. The page does what it needs to as far as informing and interesting the user right off the bat. Definitely good choice fixing the nav button sizes.

I don't know what to say for a constructive critique comment, I guess you could play with the size of the heading and maybe body copy but it flows pretty well right now. Good Job!

Hey Ben! Great Design I love the image and the fount that you chose, my only critique would be the size of your type is a little too small, especially on the body. other than that it looks good!

I really enjoy the fact that you kept your entire page design in gray scale. The white text pops agains the dark, and sometimes completely, black background image. The only thing is if the background remains stationary and the text will scroll on your page, it may be hard to read in parts of the image where it is whiter! Other than that I think the layout works well overall!
