final_rough

Post by elizabeth_mccurdy »

Hello everyone,
I decided to used this rough because I like how the image and the context work together. I did change some other things to make it look better too. For example the logo I changed the position and took out the green. Also I changed the placement of the name of the projects like some people suggested and put them on top so it is easy to navigate. Let me know if you think I should change something else and see how you like it. :D

Sorry this is not how it really looks. I don't know why it is not exporting it right. The color is off a little and the white margin on the right should not be there. but just to give you the idea of the positioning of everything.

Ha! You put your name in a bubble.

It looks like you kept most of the good parts of your preliminary design. I like the top and bottom framing. The bubbles still move you through the composition and guide you around. Your navigation is easy to find and use, even if I'm not 100% on board with how it looks. By and large, the blues work well together and don't clash with any of the colors in the self portrait. Nice use of the white TMCC logo as well. It works much better with these colors than the green one did. And I still like the bubble typeface. It works well with the overall look and feel you are going for here.

Your bodycopy looks a little fragmented. It could use some work on the indenting and on the line breaks. I'm not sure the navigation needed the dark blue glow and shadow behind it. It makes it look weirdly airbrushed. I also don't think it needed the slashes either. The two white boxes next to "GRC 175" look a little out of place with the rest of the design as well.

FYI, to make sure you don't get weird edges and dimensions when you export bitmap files out of Illustrator, check the "Use Artboards" checkbox beneath the "Save As Type" drop down in the "Export" popup. That'll fix everything to the edge.

Good effort!

Hello Elizabeth,
Your design works well, it's uniform and nicely organized! I can't seem to find anything that needs to be changed... I'm looking forward to seeing your website once built!

Hi Allie:

I love your color choices and bubble effects. The nav bar really catches my eye and jumps out at me. The bubbling around your name is super cool giving your header text a unique look from the rest of the text. The bubbles floating up from the main part of the page on and over the header is way cool! Nice work!

Hi Elizabeth,

I like your design and the color choices. The only area I see that needs a touch up is your body copy. It doesn't line up right and seems disjointed. Nice work

Wow! you have a very nice lighthearted and dare I say "bubbly" composition for a homepage. I feel the colors work dynamically with each other. I like the way your were able to fade the larger bubble into the body copy without losing any legibility in the copy, it is an intriguing element for the eye to capture while moving about the page.

If I were to suggest anything it would just be playing with the justifications of the body copy and possibly even manually setting some of the kerning I think might clean that part up with minimal effort really. Great Job!

Hi Elizabeth,

I really like how fun your design is, and I like how the bubbly font is working with the image. I would work on your navigation a little. Maybe get rid of the drop shadow, or at least make it much smaller, and you don't need the slashes. If the shadow is smaller, the words should be able to separate themselves. Good job!

Hi Elizabeth!

I think your design is really cute! I would fix the body text, the alignment is sporadic.

I like the color choice of your entire design, i think that the blues really work together and are consistent throughout. I like how the typeface mimics the bubbles that you have with your background image, and the colors are are related to that bubble idea. The only thing is I would maybe move your email address down into your about me, or next to the TMCC footer at the bottom
