Project 1 - Final Design

Hello everyone,
For Project 1, I have chosen to use a minimal design with a simple background texture a few images and little color. The typefaces I have used are: Ingra (Sans Serif) for the body and Essonnes (Serif) for the welcoming message. This portfolio is a single page and the navigation will scroll to each part of the website. On the projects page, a pop-up window will open when a project has been clicked on and the color of the links will change when the mouse hovers.
Thank you for all your recommendations, it has allowed me to improve the original design.

Oh neat, you showed us all your pages. Cool! A really sharp presentation post as well. Good covering of all the bases.

I like your subtle background pattern. It adds a layer of visual interest to an otherwise clean and minimalist design. You little shadows throughout the design work well to emphasize pieces of it. Nice use of some subtle color too. Because it's so sparse, when it does appear, it really catches the eye. The design will do a good job of keeping out of the way of your imagery and enhancing it to the eye. Your bodycopy is very legible and reminds me a bit of captioning art in a gallery. I like your titles as well. Very thin and the reinforce the minimalist ethic you have here quite well. Your navigation is well placed, if a little small.

I think you could go with an even lighter font on your bodycopy. I also think it needs greater spacing between both lines and paragraphs. Right now it's a little tight for an otherwise minimalist layout.

I love it. The navigation at the very tippy top the way you have it really works well for me. I love how your header or Welcome! is on the x-axis in the middle of the "home" page with your text content right below it and nothing above it. I like that you placed your sketch on the whole of the left half of your page. Your "about" page is just as pleasing to look at. The large margins or padding (depending on how you decide to do it) on both pages really bring focus to your content. I get a really good feeling looking at these pages. Great design!

I really like the navigation at the top and your minimalist layout. My favorite page is your "about" page. The body copy and image are placed well to give it a centered focused look to it.

Yes! you have some very crisp improvements on an already well thought out idea. I like how it opens up and gives some different geometrical alignments from page to page, it seems like it should flow nicely when turned into links or whatever.

I do enjoy the overall muted aesthetic to your color palette but you may want to just experiment and splash like one bit of color on each page to give some contrast.

Nice work! I like how you recreated the faceless woman, it's mysterious! I have one suggestion for you on the about page, your picture and your text box but up against each other, creating tension. I wonder if that tension would lessen if there was some space between them.

your great design, it's both simplistic and still visually appealing.
The navigation is simple and easy to use!
The "Projects and Resources" button should probably be separated into two button, since they are two different things.

I really like the simplicity of the overall design. It looks neat and clean, but still looks professionally designed. I like how it's very minimal and easy to navigate, but it still looks elegant and not like you put it together in a rush!
