Project One Final

Post by susielang »

Hello everyone!

Here is my final for project one. I used the black and white for good contrast with the color on the page. Also, I wanted something that is eye catching- choosing the typefaces I did. I like combining a more elaborate typeface with a simpler one. I designed the layout to move the viewer easily through and the navigation simple to follow.

Wow this is awesome! I really like the blocky pictures at the bottom and the navigation at the top,
makes your layout really look like a website. I'm also very fond of how you used your text to establish
hierarchy throughout the design. Overall, I don't think I would change anything in it, good job.
Cheers,

Very good use of font and layout, this looks and feels like a professional website and I can't wait to see you put this into affect as you build the website it self. My only concern is the logo font might be lost slightly as the body paragraph font appears stronger.

Your Webiste looke great my favorit part of your website would be how the Text pops out from the back ground making it easy to read, as for what you could inprove on i would say finding a better spot for your paragraph.

Really Stylish! I am a big fan of black-out design and your website is a very good example effective use of black.

I am not a big fan of huge headers, except for yours. Your header is really efficient in terms of use of space and hierarchy establishment. It calls for attention without being overwhelming or obtrusive.

Your navigation is subtle but really gives your site a lot of personality in combination with the rest of the elements and your logo.

It was very smart to use your previous works for imagery!

Awesome!

I love the contrast, it really makes your artwork stand out!

Maybe it's just the background but it looks like the top navigation and logo are a little off center..? I'm not sure, but other than that it looks amazing!

This turned out really nice! The blocked images give the layout a modern feel. I really like your top navigation and your logo in the center. I would suggest bring the headlines for Projects and Links further down so that it is closer to the images and further from the "Hello" and about copy. Awesome layout!

Your design looks really cool! I would just change the spacing of your bodycopy so that it doesn't have gaps in between the letters.

Ah! Good to see it with actual photographs.

The layout still works with the lighter black background. It still functions well as a neutral backdrop for your photos. Speaking of your photos, the mosaic layout you did with them was really strong, probably the best improvement you made on the design. It allows your photos to be different sizes and aspect ratios and not compete with each other. Instead they compliment one another. Your marginas are also much improved, especially at the edges of the page and between the photos. Typographically, it's still strong, the sans-serif font is a great neutral choice and the script font still works well with everything.

Punch the "S" out of your logo. I don't really care for the darker black in there vs. your slightly lighter black background. The margin between your "Hello" and your bodycopy is still a little tight.

Nicely done!

Hi Susie!
The logo adds to the overall professional style. The spacing of the navigation needs a little refining. The high contrast color scheme is visually appealing. The design is strong! :)
