Project 1 Final
Hello Everyone! I wasn't happy with either one of my designs, so I made a completely different one...I'm sorry, but I like this much better, and I hope you do too. This design is more me, as the additions, and the flow came much easier than the last two. I did keep the horse shoes, and added some barn wood for my links. I really enjoyed this project!

Re: Project 1 Final
I like how this one came out in the end, there is still room to improve upon it but as it stands the use of color and imagery gives me this feeling of home. I would increase the horseshoe sizes on each side to close in some space and bring them forward a bit with the title.

I like the old feel your website is giving off and the graghics for your buttons give it a rustic feel. what to improve though is that you are missing the picture of yourself.

Oh nice! This is a definite improvement over your preliminary projects.
It has a sixties western credit scene feel to it. I like the wood plank navigation buttons. They help establish the western desert theme and they reinforce the western movie look. The sand colored background was a really strong choice as well. The large photo immediately draws the eye and becomes the focal point of the piece. That's a nicely chosen photo; it functions basically as a thesis statement. Typographically it's pretty strong too. I like the fancier serif type you used on your title and navigation. It's working well with the simpler serif type your using for your bodycopy. The horseshoes are a great framing device as well. Your use of margins is almost textbook. Everything has enough room to breathe without being fragmented by a loss of proximity.
I don't think you need the brown box in the middle. Some of your margins are tight on the longer words in your plank buttons. I think if your nav type were a point or two smaller it'd fit a little more comfortably. I wonder what it might look like with a little texture in that sand background too.
Good work!

I like it! Has a retro rustic feel to it. Would make the horseshoes bigger. You could do interesting things with those shapes. I like the overall feel to the site. Good color and great image of the horses.

Great improvements from the preliminary critique! The color scheme is nice. Your nav buttons are creative, too. You could try reflecting the middle buttons to give it some more style. Also it would be nice to have your about body copy centered in the box, or remove the box complete and make the type bigger.

This has a great western feel to it! I like that you incorporated the horseshoes at the top of the page.
Maybe try filling in the brown box for your bio with more type, so that it doesn't look so lonely

Pearl, this is awesome and very you! The colors go nicely with the horse theme
and I really like your rustic buttons. This is definitely an improvement from your
previous design and I can tell you work hard it, great job
I might try to center the body text or make the body text bigger so that it fills
the entire brown box.

I like how the color scheme matches well with the image of the horses, and I love the style of your buttons.

Hello,
The design looks great! The serif font for the name goes well with the equestrian theme. The page is well-balanced. To be consistent, try aligning the text in the body copy. The colors are working well with the photo!
