preliminary-critique-gennesisg

Post by genesis_urena »

Hello!

This are my 2 roughs. Instead of working with my name as a brand. I created "Zebra Studio" to promote my work. On my first option I am trying to look for a neat and clear concept. Yellow in order to present creativity and energy and black to attach strength. A basic font because I think the Zebra picture is already too much. And on my second option I went for an elegant/minimalistic concept. Trying to make it very simple and easy to navigate with a combination of light and dark font.

LINKS: First link I found it very useful tips on how to start designing a web page. Second one gave me a few awarded Web designs in order to find inspiration and look out what the winners are doing. Then my third link was very useful when trying to look for my own style and how is branding. I added a Lynda.com link I found it very clear and helpful when applying the principles of design. But very oriented on Aesthetic design.

Hi Genesis,

Nice layouts. I really like the logo. I think it works and is also very cute.
In my opinion both designs could benefit from at least one more pop of color somewhere. An accent color.

Hello,
I like both your designs in the first however the text kind of disappears in the background so maybe changing the color of the text would be beneficial for you. In the second design the text is visible and easily can be read. Both look to be user friendly and able to navigate easily in both of your designs

Hi Genesis,
I like both of your designs. They are clean, readable, and well-balanced. I do like the pop of color on the orange one, I think it just makes it more unique to look at. I think that one is the stronger design. However, if you decide to go with the black and white one, I would change the white text into grey or black because it blends into the background. All in all, both look great!

I like your second design, not as monochromatic as your first. On your first design, you might want to do more with your toolbar on both the web and mobile design.

Hello, I love your concept of your design! I love the black and white one better. I think the image in the first one is more visually interesting. I think just focusing on alignment and size of type could help your design.

Hey Genesis, I really like the look of both designs. Your first design stood out to me more because it goes along with the zebra thing you're going for. I think the black and white create this feeling of old times but still has a modern look to it. I have to agree with the others that the type does blend into your background just a little too much. You could make they type darker or create a box underneath the type that it could contrast fom. Besides the type blending in I think you nailed it with the first design

Hi Genesis, I love your two designs layout it's cute! I would recommend the black and white layout, the color of the text is a bit off, play around with the colors and tool bar.

Hi Genesis, I really like the second rough because of the yellow color contrasting with the zebra. Your zebra logo is adorable, and I like where it's placed too. I would say that maybe make the links a little smaller on the left. For the mobile version the zebra's face is stretched out maybe you can put his head at the bottom of the layout so it looks like he's kind of popping his head over.
