Project One Final

Post by itsdrrlcarden »

Here is my revised Project One. I took everyones advice and stuck with the first design because I do agree that it is the one that represents me the best. I made my image brighter and moved around the text alignment. I am hoping this design is an improvement compared to the first one!

I found these links to helpful when building websites. It taught me to watch my organization and the way I layout things out. It helped me pick out colors, type, and style to properly make a functioning website design. One of them actually discusses the trends of modern web design and the characteristics of it.

Amazing work Darrell!

I like the changes you've made to your layout. I am able to read your sub-headed text and body copies better. Great job and I can't wait to see how you will progress!!

I love the final look of your webpage. Im glad you decided to keep the image in color instead of black and white. All the colors go well with each other and it looks very nice. Great work!

Hi,
The final design layout is great to see. The color is a great option and the use of the space to the layout is very clean. I can enjoy the flow of the scene with your profile picture used and the font selection. Good Choice. Wishing you the best this semester. Looking forward to your future sites.

Hi Darrell,

Wow, brightening up the photo made those colors really pop! It looks nice. You might want to try looking at your mobile version when its the size of your phone. When I do it I can't read what's in the text boxes. But overall things look good!

Hi Darrell!

I like how your background photo turned out, and the orange subhead pops off the blue sky in the background very nicely!

Oh nice! You made your image 100% opacity. That really brings out the colors in it. A very strong decision. Your typography continues to be a real strength in this piece. I especially like how your "Darrell" font and your "graphic designer" font work together. And you've introduced a little transparency into this version! An excellent choice, sir. Your colors remain strong and go well with your image. A particular strength is the interplay between the red-orange in the "graphic designer" type and the red-orange in your mirrorshades. The black type pops off your image well. I'm not sure if it's the black color or your selected type weights, but it works.

Your margins are too tight on your bodycopy boxes on your mobile website. The could have used a little more margin. Your mobile design seems to have fragmented all to pieces. Each of the items in the white box below the image seems to be on it's own little island. Your navigation is crammed into a little teeny area in the top left corner. And your type is in boxes which are entirely unnecessary for a white background. I thought your preliminary work version of this mobile layout looked much better.

Good effort!

Hey Darrell,

I really like how your website turned out! In your computer layout, I like the placement of your text and the balance between your image and the right and the heavy fonts used on the left. I also reallllly like the color you used for your name.
In your mobile version I feel like the class info and project buttons could feel more cohesive if they were moved to the right a bit, and maybe down a little bit?

Nice work! :)
