First 2 pages of site

Post by artgalstyle »

I lost all my psd files and had to start over. Don't usually work in CS5 so not sure what I did but here is what I have so far. Tried to remember what everyone said and still playing around with some of the ideas and colors for the type. Made type darker and little bigger and on rollover the type will turn a brownish color. Have two pages my home page and about page so far. Photo on the home page should not go off as it does and will be made right. If I have forgotten any of the great suggestions you gave me don't hesitate to lay it on me again. hee! hee! Thanks

I like the direction your going with your designs. I think that the type is just a hair too small. I would recommend using around maybe setting the type around 10pts which is approximately the same size as the type in this post.

I think it is a very strong and solid website. I was really liking the way the water sort of "fell" from the buttons on the upper right corner...not sure if it was intentional but very cool! I think the type is still a little light and maybe too small, Im not sure what you need to do to fix it but I just still have a really hard time reading it. I had to sit about 2 inches from the screen to read it, and I even zoomed in a little. So, try playing with that more, and see where you can take it to make it more readable/legible

Other than that I think your design is great!

Thanks Chris and Faith. I think the type is 12 pts in PS but I can make it bigger and darken it a little more. I will keep playing around with it. Appreciate the imput.

I really like the curve and the angle of that first picture. I really only have one point. And that is that the angle and the brightness of the water in the upper left of your main web page draw the eye up that way. That's a fine thing, but your menus are not that apparent being the color they are and on the upper right. Play with sampling the color of the darker bricks in your water wall and using that for the type of your menu items. I don't have any suggestions for moving the menu anywhere else, so maybe just the darker type for them would be all that is needed.

Great job as always!

I love the waterfall photo. Maybe if you boosted saturation on that photo, it would help the contrast issue with your type? Nice photos - I really like the one of the children how you captured them in mid-walk.

This is a great portfolio. Very good sense of flow and hierarchy. The contrast issue had already been suggested.
