Project 01 Preliminary!

here are my websites that inspired me:

What inspired me about this website was the animation that related to their mission statement. They also used a really nice color palette and they continued to use the same shapes throughout their page which helped reinforce consistency. I also like that you were able to scroll through their landing page but also they provided a navigation bar to help you move quickly through the site as well.

What I liked about this site was that the color palette was very bright and pastel-colored. It was thoughtfully organized and minimal but there were little details that made it feel personal and unique.

What I really liked about this site was how organized she was in her content. Her introduction was direct but as you scrolled through her page she made room to showcase her blog, workshops, and her own portfolio.

For my first design I wanted to layout a design that felt clean, simple, and minimalistic as it feels reflective of who I am (or who I try to be at least haha). In the rest of the layout I used recurring design choices I am drawn to in my work, such as the yellow, florals, and the serif font. I think that that using a serif font helped to created some contrast to the geometric shapes I used.

The second design I wanted to play around with using vector graphics alongside pictures. I cut out the mountain and threw in the vector shapes to create variety. I had a similar mindset as the previous design when it came to the color and font choices.

Hi Rowena!!! I live your style its so calming and warm I think it is because of the colors you use. I'm a bug fan of the second set of roughs I like how you added the sun to the image background

I love your layouts. The colors match really nice and the background of the road and the sun have a really inviting feel. I also like the fonts you used. The only thing I can think of to critique would be to make the color of the text a little darker in the second set with the sun. I like that set the best. Nice job!

Wow, looking at your designs makes me feel so calm, which is a very hard thing to do haha! Your second design is phenomenal, I love the way you fit the design into the different phone/desktop format. I think the first design is amazing too, but maybe as a resumé or business card format rather than a web format! I can totally see those colors printed out, and they go with your second design so well. I think the only critique I have is to bolden your name a bit since the white gets lost in the background a bit, but thats really the only thing.

Oh my goodness, I love the organic warmth of your style. They're both really beautiful but I have to say the second one makes me want to redesign my own concepts! haha so cool! I love the collage-ey feel you created. The colors make me feel like I'm in another world and would definitely make me curious about who you are as a designer. Im already excited to see more of your work

My only suggestion is to see if you can give your body copy a little more margin in the box you've created for it as it feels a teeny bit cramped. Thats it! its truly awesome!

Low key I'm always obsessed with your designs haha. I love the warm, calming colors you went with. I love the second one with the Welcome! sun. It looks cute and is easy to read while still having a lot of interest too.

Wow Rowena!

These look amazing. You have such a unique style and as always an incredible color palette and I am continually inspired by your work. Personally, your second rough is definitely my favorite. The image with the curve of the "welcome" works so well. The mobile version looks great as well. A small detail I noticed is that I think that your body text would stand out much more by increasing the stroke size to .25 - .5, without taking away from your name and information. Same with the resources, project 2, and project 3 tabs. I'm very excited to see the final product! Great work

Hi Rowena,
I really like your designs and the colors schemes you have chosen for each of them. I would go with the second one though because I love that image of the road with a sun like shape popping up with the word welcome. I also like how you have more a logo icon next to your name with the circle and leaves. I also prefer your typefaces used in the second layout than the first. Overall very strong layouts and can't wait to see what you choose as your final design.

Are you sure these are roughs?!?!? WOW!!! These are amazing! I love the color palette you choose and the designs. You really made the design work for both the web and mobile versions, which I honestly struggled with. The only thing I would change in the second version is to change the color for "Welcome" to yellow, and maybe doing the yellow color for either your name or contact info for the mobile version. Other than that, this I amazing!

The cohesive concept behind your design is visually pleasing, and I prefer how your second website design mixes organic and geometric shapes. I think your text size could be a little smaller so that when it is full screen it does not take away too much of the attention. Nice job!
