Hi everyone,
Here are my final designs, for the purposes of this class and keeping things as simple as possible, I’ve decided to go with the first set of roughs as my final design, but I do plan to use the second one later on once I’ve gotten a grip on all this fun stuff that is HTML & CSS. I made a few changes from the prelim critique. I decided to go with a more classic website menu as navigation for the site rather than the three buttons and essentially no header items, I’ve also moved my email under the paragraph about myself because the longer I looked at it the more I realized I just wasn’t liking its previous placement. I did brighten up the background so that the image could be seen a bit more and I also added my logo from the second rough onto this final one because I really want this to eventually become a part of my branding and to start giving it some exposure here and there even though these are not necessarily going to be my colors.

Project 01 Final
Re: Project 01 Final
Hi Jacklyn,
I think this is so aesthetic it reminds me of those Pinterest inspired websites.
I like the colors you chose and how you made the background darker but it doesn't loose focus or take away focus from the navigation or features.

Oh this came out great, Jacklyn.
Just textbook margins on this one, both in your mobile and computer layouts. If anyone asks about what good margins look like, I'm going to show them this design. Great use of alignment as well especially along the left edge of the bodycopy and contact information. This design has such a great feel to it. It's so warm and inviting. Almost an old photograph from the 1970's feel. I think it's the warm peach tones throughout. What a good background image selection. It adds warmth and visual interest to the design. It also softens up what is ostensibly a super clean hard edged layout. You selected your colors out of your image, so the two of them compliment each other and play off one another extremely well. My favorite is the use of a warm white or very pale yellow for your light color. Using those warm colors help off set the cool, hard edged nature of your sans-serif font. Though you've chose a softer sans-serif as well. I like that you used one font in different weights through the whole thing. It creates a hierarchy without a jarring appearance switchover or potential clashes. A regular white might have been to stark and cold for the design. Your navigation is easy to see and use. I like what a nice capstone your footer is as well.
My only slight nitpick is that your class information text is not vertically centered in your footer. That's it. Otherwise this thing is great!
Super duper good work here. You've really outdone yourself.

I love this. Very modern, easy to follow, and beautiful to look at. I really like the flower picture and the typography is great. Good job.

Hi Jacklyn,
This turned out great! You made the background image work by making your text readable. Love the simple navigation and that your name is prominent on the page. Great choice of font and colors!

Hello Jacklyn,
This looks great! The fonts and colors go very well together. The alignment of everything makes this look very good. The only thing I would change is centering the "GRC 175..." and the logo like you did with the mobile version. Great job!

Hi Jacklyn,
I love this! Really beautiful, very modern and eye pleasing. And I love your logo too. It matches your theme well. Maybe try padding your edges with margins a little more and maybe widen your, one spacing just a tad? Other than that I love it

Hi Jacklyn,
I love the flowers and the peach colors used. I know that the background is darkened but I am finding it a little hard to read the body copy with all the detail going on in the background. Other than that I think it is laid out nicely! Nice job.

Hello Jacklyn,
Great design, it looks very well done. The logo goes nicely on the background. I do agree that the body is a little hard to read. Maybe up the leading so it doesn't feel tight.

Hi Jacklyn!
This entire website is just so aesthetic I love it. The colors that compliment your background are working so well together. It's really hard to add text on top of an image, but the way you darkened your background makes it stand out so clearly, yet doesn't take away from your background image so great job on that. I love how your name stands out boldly. Something I noticed that may be worth trying out is centering your body text and contact information since it's in the middle of your page, but besides that everything else is working really well! Great work Jacklyn, I'm very excited to see your published website
