Project 04 Prelim

Hello! Here are my designs for Project 04. I decided one was going to use more text and pictures while the other one was going to be a bit more simple. For this project, I went to use the TMCC logo guide and used some of the other official colors instead of just the TMCC green and I think it turned out pretty well.

I think I prefer your first design, the layout is easy to follow and everything looks good. The only thing that I would change is the text color for the “Apply now” button, I think a brighter color would help it stand out more. Good job!

These look great! I prefer your second design! I like how you put different pictures on every slide. I like the font choices. This website looks easy to navigate, and is easy to read! I love your staff page! I like all of the color choices, but I would find a different color choice for the yellow used on the home page. Great job!

Okay, somebody clearly had waaaaaaay too much fun with the faculty bios. Excellent!

I like your first design better. It feels more like an advertisement. I really like the "Apply Now!" call to action button. It makes the users make a choice right away. Get's 'em all jazzed up and ready to go too. Great choices with your stock photography too. You've got a couple that nicely show the campus and one that shows students actually doing designer stuff. That's something a lot of people have missed with their designs. I like the use of transparency, too. It adds some nice visual interest. Your containers are just opaque enough to keep your background image from interfering with your type without blotting out your background image. That's a fine line to walk. By and large, your margins are very good as well. Your navigation is easy to see and use and I like how it "interacts" with your background imagery. Good use of contrast, too. Everything pops nicely.

I think there's a couple colors too many and it get's a little clashy. I'd recommend ditching the pea green TMCC logo for a black one and ditching the blue in your header type for the red of your title and accent type in the body. Watch your bottom margin on your large headline and pullquote container. It's a little tight at the bottom.

Hi Izzy,
Both of these designs look great, though I like the first over the second design. I love your first one because it doesn't use the typical image of the college and instead shows the people, giving a feeling of a fun and enjoyable environment. I also like your placement of text and your big Apply Today button. While I like your layout, I too think you are trying to introduce too many colors that are beginning to clash with the green and black that are already associated with the college and it's programs. I would do away with the yellow and change that to light green and leave the text all black. Also, I love your instructor bios

I like your first design the best. There is a lot of colors and pictures that stand out. The red and yellow are interesting. I also like the turquoise color used at the top of the page for your font. The apply now button is large and easy to spot. I especially like how it looks on the mobile version. I also really like the way you laid out the instructor bio's. It is bright and easy to read. Overall it look great. Good job.

Great concepts you have. Both of them are very colorful and the layouts are looking very good. I think both will work great for the website, I think prefer the first more because the home page looks great.

I'm not so sure how feel about the italic serif font on your home page, maybe try a san serif instead but that is just me.

Wow, awesome color choices! Super refreshing and new!! I love it. The second layout and color scheme seems morre cohesive but I find the turquoise in the first exciting. Hmm...maybe theres a way to combine both? I would love to see the second layout with a touch of turqouise

I think these designs are really unique and nice! I like the yellow, but I'm not sure if I like the red font over it, very weird opinion but it just reminds me too much of mcdonalds I think haha. other than that smalle issue though I really love these designs, especially the layouts. Great job!

I really like both of your compositions! I really like how you added a yellow with red text, that's very unique and original compared to other layouts I've seen. Personally, I'm leaning towards your first design. I think the yellow box with the opacity lowered stands out with the full image background and it all looks very clean. I really like the navigation bar as well with the opacity lowered. Absolutely love your staff page as well. I see that lemon milk font . Awesome job!
