Hello, everybody! It is I, Mai.
As a minimalist I am, I tried to create some simple layouts for the TMCC page. So far, they're too simple and definitely need some more work. I'm happy with the contrast between the green and orange but I think I need one more color, possibly a dark grey, to ground everything.
So far I'm leaning towards the first concept. I think it has a better visual hierarchy. My brain is fried so the few functioning brain calls I have left this semester will appreciate any suggestions

Hi,
Both your designs look really good, but I think I like your first design more. The navigation on the side feels like it would be easier to click though, and the green text is a little easier to read. The only thing I would change is the top orange bar, maybe by making is smaller, since it feels a little out of place. Good work!

Hello Mai,
Your designs look great! I prefer your second design. This website is easy to navigate. I love the font choices, and it is a simple layout, which is great. I would make the text black or gray, and make the rollover color orange. Great job!

Oh, I like your orange accent color, Mai. Somebody's been looking at a color wheel.
Of the two, I like your first one best. It uses your orange accent color a little better and seems more visually interesting. I like your diagonally divided homepage, with your pullquote in a big green triangle. They eye really moves through your composition well. Good image choices as well. A design poster works on several levels, the camput photo is nice and I really like that flowchart about how our degree program works. That last one was really inspired. I also like their placement. Wherever an eye might alight in a rest state, there is a content reinforcing image. Good use of sans-serif type through the whole thing. It gives it a techy, forward look. By and large the composition uses contrast well. Your navigation is easy to see and use.
I'd recommend making your navigation and "Graphic Arts & Media Technology Program" type bolder. Also, maybe use some of the shadowing on them that you're using on the TMCC logo. Lighten your gray gradient on your home page a little bit so your bodycopy becomes more visible. Maybe use that gradient as a background on all of your pages as well. Watch your margins on your bodycopy on your inner page layout. It's a little tight. On your mobile layout have the "Graphic Arts & Media Technology Program" text collapse so that the ampersand is not on its own line, but after "Arts". That'll save you some needless header height.
Good job.

Hi Mai,
This is a difficult decision because I really like both of your designs. I think I like the second one the best because I am a minimalist myself. The choice of the orange font is different and I really like it. It is not difficult to read at all and works well with the white background. I like your color choice for the green as well. It is a lot more attractive and the regular TMCC green colors. Putting the navigation in the center is also unique. Overall I think it's a great layout. Nice job.

Hello Mai,
Great job, the layout of both of look great. I like how you made the navigation in the second one so but I think the first concept's layout works best. Maybe make a similar looking navigation of the second on the first. I also like the orange text much more than the green.

Hi Mai,
I like your first design better. Some other people have done the triangular shape as well but I think yours is working the best with how you aligned the text on each side of the dividing line, plus I love that you have piece of hanging artwork on the homepage. I'm not so sure about the orange color, but I do like the lines, they could probably be a little thinner though. I also really like the navigation going down the side rather than the middle, but I do like how you styled it with the lines and serif font and think it would look good on the green as well.

Hi Mai!
I really love both of your designs! I think I like the first one a bit more because it fits the minimalist art you described. It looks really clean! I think the only thing I'm not sure about is the orange font. Other than that small thing though these are really nice designs! Awesome job!

Hi Mai!
Awesome job on both of these compositions. I love the simple layout of both of them and the images you picked are very fitting as well. I especially love the hanging art effect you added, that was a really nice touch. It'd be cool to see that incorporated for your other inner pages. The navigation looks clean and simple on both the web version and the mobile version and I think it's really cool how you went with a vertical style. I'm personally leaning towards your second layout. I think the orange text looks really nice. Great job!

Hi Mai,
Both designs look terrific, I prefer the first one better since it makes a little more sense due to the layout being easier to navigate. The images and text placement is absolutely terrific along with some of the effects you implemented. The first design looks professional and can be appreciated through simply viewing it. Great job on your website!
