I like your second concept the most I like how you positioned the image behind partway with the type over the top I tried to do something like that too. I think you should go with that one! Something I would do differently would be to make the upper half of the mobile version black and put your type in a box and white as you did in the desktop version.

Hi James! I like your simple and organized start, I think the second layout could be really cool! I think I would change the color of your red boxes in the second design to a color that plays off the background well. OR! maybe even get rid of the red boxes... because your subheads attached to them are already pretty visually strong. Nice work!

Heya James,
Between the two I am biased toward the starry background one because I love the aesthetics of space. I think it would be cool if you sort of expanded upon that theme throughout the rest of the design. You also have the start of a sort of minimalist/modern vibe going on that I think could be pulled off intentionally with some tweaking of the proportions and margins.

I like your first design! I just love that dog so much! I need to see more of it! I also like how you have a color theme going on in it. I also really like the organization of it. I definitely think the website content can be bigger since there's a lot of space but it's overall clean and I like that! Your second concept is cool too but it doesn't have the dog. I think it got some really good ideas and with some transparency, I think it could be super cool!
