Alright, here is my final website design. I ended up going with the Pepto-Bismol lava lamp design but I changed the colors from pink and purple to purple and blue. They are much cooler colors that give a calm groovy feeling. I didn't change my layout too much. I still want to keep it simple. I was thinking of definitely doing drop down menus for the web page and maybe even having an interactive background as well. I was inspired by a lot of different website functions I've researched to get that kind of lava lamp looking effect. As for my mobile design I tried to design it a little bit differently but I didn't change much either. I think I want to experiment more with typography just because mine's kind of looking a little plain from the overall design. I have a stiff serif font when I want go-with-the-flow kind of vibes. I want the website to Showcase my designs and other art as well as social media and junk.

Hi, these look fantastic, as you said the "Pepto-bismol lava lamp" looks great, I love the look of these, they have a nice sense of style and the layout is great! There is a lot of empty space in the web layout but other than that they're great!

Oooh interesting. It looks less ... medicinal.
As with your preliminary design, I think the real strength of this one is the soupy depth provided by your gradients. I like the blue substitution. It still works well with the pink, but cools the whole composition off. Your blobs provide a gentle motion throughout the whole thing and continue the calming trend. They feel almost semi-transparent. Your pink area kind of gently guides the eye through from the navigation to the bodycopy to the image. This kind of winding river content area expands upon the motion and really fights the "all boxes" nature of websites. Any time you can hide the boxes, do so, and this is a great example of that. Your typography is good as well. A clean inoffensive sans-serif that works well with the blobs and doesn't disrupt anything.
I think the footer would have looked a little better on both layouts if it had been right aligned, it's a little crowded at the top especially on mobile. It also needed to be moved up from the bottom. It's a little crowded down there. Also, I think your mobile bodycopy could have been a point or two smaller and your computer bodycopy a point or two larger.
Nice work!

This reminds me of a tattoo shop, or a spiritual guru house. All fortune teller. I like the concept of the idea.

Hi Olivia!
Like your preliminary, I really like your color combination used here. The blending of pink and purple with white text on top just looks really clean, eye pleasing and easy to flow through. Your spacing of everything is really good as you embrace the negative space of your layout and use it to your advantage. I always love a good use of negative space as it adds intrigue and mystery to the design rather than most people's inherent tendency to fill the space up with content. Your layout does a really nice job of that balance.
As a small suggestion, if this was mine I would make the bottom "GRC 175..." copyright line and the TMCC logo a tad small as I feel it draws too much attention to itself rather than just being that small nod most copyright lines are at the bottom of media, sites, posters, etc. Also this is a teeny tiny critique but perhaps your email doesn't need to be on the home page but rather in your contact section? Granted you definitely met the project requirements but perhaps for your final build, you could do a contact page and list it there?
Overall, very aesthetically pleasing layout and way to go on finding that balance between functionality and aesthetic! Looking forward to seeing what you do with this.

Hi Olivia,
The colors of your design combined with the soft lava flow work together to create a sort of sweet dreams feeling. It gives the impression that you are a kind, approachable person. Which makes it super funny that you then talk about collecting swords. It's a super fun use of gradients and I feel like I can reach into the design itself and touch the blobs and they would squish under my finger. The use of the script font really ties well into the curvey nature of the design. The only thing I can think of to suggest would be to pull the class info up a bit from the bottom of the mobile version so it's about the same distance as the navigation bar there at the top.

Hi Olivia
I don't think I've seen this design. It looks so different and new to me.
I love the lava lamp feeling I'm getting off of it and the purple colors. Gives a sense of calm yet crazy to the whole design. The way words are trapped into the sections of the colors works. However, your mobile version seems a tiny bit cramped inside the pink area with how heavy all the words writing is.
Besides the writing, it looks just fun, so excellent job.

Hey Olivia,
This looks amazing! I love the organic shapes that you kept and I love the color! I also really like the idea of drop-down menus, they're a fun way to be organized. I also think the font you used for your name is really fun and cute. You just did a good job overall. I also love the circle for an image of you. It reminds me of Facebook.

Hi Olivia,
I like the pepto bismo lava lamp. I really liked your previous design, and I kinda miss it already, but this one is soothing and fun to look at as well. I like the overall unity of it, has space, just looks like it deserves to exist.

Hey Olivia,
I absolutely love these designs! (And totally not because of how my favorite color is pink haha) But I love the sense of fluidity you created within the whole composition! It seems really calming and visually interesting at the same time! I also do enjoy the font you had chose for your name as well, I think it has to do with it being really solid in a sense that it contrasts from the background--making the viewer immediately see it when visiting your site for the first time--great work! So far, my only suggestions would be: to decrease the scale of the persona image in the computer-sized format because of how it is way too close to touching the bottom of the blue bubble on the top right corner; and decrease the paragraph size in the mobile format just a little bit (it makes the design feel very compact and left with no room to breathe in). But besides this, this is a really great design and satisfies the project's requirements completely! Good job!
