project 2 final critique that is totally late

Hello one and all, here is my website.

I know this is late, but I uploaded my thing to FileZilla on time and proceeded to forget all about how I had to post it here, so at least I remembered.
(with Michael's email reminder about the final critique).

Anyways this is my website.
I know it doesn't look exactly like I planned and still has specific bugs involving the boxes I have yet to fix when the tab or computer screen shrinks.
But I had to change certain aspects of it simply because of my skill level while staying true to the design I created and fell in love with.
If you have any tips on how to fix certain things with code, I am all ears because I am not doing very well with it.

I wouldn't stress too much about it yet. This is new stuff to most of us and its impractical to try to be perfect at new things so soon. I have to tell myself this over and over again, and it still doesn't really stick, but its something that I think should still be said. My site isn't responsive at all yet either.

You definitely have a good foundation from which to fine-tune the coding through the rest of the semester, should you so wish to. The only thing I could suggest is to just poke around and try things; that is ultimately what I did to get mine where it is. I think you're doing just fine.

Hell yeah, I am loving the colors and imagery you have going on here. I wish the links had a little animation to them, and if the white body text sat a little more comfortably in the box provided. The only other thing I might tinker with is the opacity of the drop-shadow boxes behind the content and links, different levels of opacity may be a great way to establish a lil better hierarchy in the content itself. Such a good theme and color palette, excited to see it functional.

I think the overall look of the site is very cool. I didn't see any clickable links for your projects and I couldn't quite scroll down to see the other option you had at the bottom left of the page. I am very interested in how you got the gradients going, I attempted them but I didn't succeed in attempting them lol so good on you for managing how to do that fun thing. I feel like mostly everyone is having some sort of struggle with their site, but hopefully we'll get there. nice job. way better than mine!

Awww yeah! The 90's Trapper Keeper is now in website form!

I love the colors on this thing. The blue and purple and teal reinforce each other so well. Great use of gradients too. The whole website looks like it's glowing from within powered by with some kind of undiscovered cave energy. It has such a blacklight bedroom vibe. And everything reinforces it. Like that sketchy font! I should HATE that sketchy font! And yet it works here. How did you get it to work here, Samantha? How? Oh, and your image is great as well. It keeps the 90s binder theme going strong.

The big problem I see here is one of margins. Your buttons and your content area have no left or right margins. The text touches the edges on both of those. Also, I'm not sure why your buttons needed to be narrower than their column.

Hi Sam!

Nice work on getting your fluorescent magical page to life! I love it every time I see it! Considering it looks spot on with your original concept, I'd say DOMINATION!

For the record to I heard you in Musni's class over zoom about your HTML and CSS woes - right there with you. Hands down one of the most intricate, awkward, frustrating learning experience this project was. I've never done it before so I intensely felt the pain right along with you.

Anyways, if I were to offer any critique, it'd be possibly adding a hover animation for the buttons or perhaps turning the cursor into a pointer finger when hovering over the buttons just so it registers that those are clickable. Your button press animations themselves though - *chef's kiss! Anyways keep up the great work! You did and amazing job!

I really love how your website looks! It honestly reminds me of this one area in the videogame Terraria where there are glowing mushrooms (I'll attach a photo below)--but your site has a really cool vibe to it! I also do enjoy how you made the buttons on the navigation, and where it actually looks like they are being pressed on when clicking them--great attention to detail! I think that the section with the cat image, paragraph, and the two rectangles behind them could be moved up a bit more because there seems to be an awkward amount of space between it and the top two rectangles (that has your name and course information). But besides that, I say great work!

I was holding my breath after I read your intro, and voila! Your site is breathtaking! I love it! The colors the gradients and your 'message' email address (right?) and the amazing cat and butterflies picture. Whatever went wrong, what went right is really pleasing. I first opened it up in its 'mobile' format positions, and now that I see your responsive elements working SO elegantly... I am blown away and I am inspired to try to do something like that with my boxy design (not up yet). I love how the boxes seemed to kind of leaf themselves together with the responsive thing happening. Colors are excellent, so nice and UNIQUE (to me). Lookin' good! One of my favorite designs. :- )
