Project01_FINAL

Post by megan_thompson2 »

Here are my final web designs. I changed the text on each one, and I feel that it flows better on the page and everything compliments each other. As I work through the semester, I may update my page if I get more inspiration. Which I would love to hear even more feedback whenever I can get it. Always room for more improvement.
I also have my creative and useful websites that I found helped me.

Hi Megan!
I like the changes you made! I think the typeface of your head is working better and it's easier to read your name than the preliminary work. I like the clean and professional look of the design, and I think the typefaces you chose and the lines are working pretty well with the design! For the computer format, I think the orange stars are the creating nice accent to the design. My only critique is the background color. I think it will create unity if you pick beige or orange colors from the picture. Other than that, good job!

Oh, how hypnotizing. You've got yourself a nice clean layout here, Megan. It folds nicely from computer to mobile layout.

I really like the overall placement of objects here. It's super clean. And you're great with margins. Everything has a nice bit of room around it without fragmenting. I like the way your header and navigation footer frame your content. Your image (which is nicely selected, BTW) balances nicely with your bodycopy. I like two of your fonts as well. Your medium sans-serif header font balances nicely with the marker script in your bodycopy. Usually I'd say to left align your bodycopy, but here it works. I also like the little detail of how the descenders of your name clip through the bottom stroke. Makes it feel like it's escaping a little bit and adds a touch of visual interest. Your navigation is easy to see and use.

I think you've got a typeface too many here. I think the whole composition would look better without the extra font you used in your navigation. The medium sans-seif in your header would have been enough, I think. I suspect your background would have worked a little better if you had enlarged the swirlies so there are only a few onscreen. Right now it's a little too hypnotizing and disruptive.

Good work!

Hi Meg,
I love the curly q's swirling around your background, it has a very fun vibe. The only thing I might add would be possibly an additional color choice with your typeface to compliment the cool background. I don't really see the turquoise anywhere else, and using another color might help bring tie the background and your photo together a little more. Something to try and see if it works. If not, let it go and stay as is :D

Hey there Megan!
Nice job on your final project! I like the background pattern going on, I think it adds a ton of visual interest. Great job on your margins also, Especially in your web layout. As for my critique, I think you should consider reducing typestyles down to 2-3, and also reducing type sizes in certain areas, such as your name in the web layout. Your body copy looks to be bolded, which can be hard to read. (That is just a nitpick!) Lastly, take another look at your "Projects" alignment to ensure it is centered. If it is, perhaps there is a space or two after the word that is causing the word to be a bit shifted to the left. Great work regardless! I love how it turned out :D :D

Howdy Megan!

I really enjoy the trippy aspect of the objects in your background. It makes it a bit fun for me to move my eyes around the design, but this might not be the case for others so just watch out! A critique I would give is to center your text on your mobile design as all the pieces of type aren't aligned with each other and it looks very unclean. For your web design I would work on the leading on the text for your "grc-175" as the numbers weirdly droop below your other pieces of type.

Otherwise I love your work! :D

Hi Megan,
I really like the cool tone you're creating for your layout! The color choice is really cute! I do like your background but I think maybe adding a box behind your body copy and play with the opacity of it, it can help with the legibility between the background and your text! I also think if you want to play around with the color of your type, it can bring a more "cool tone" to your website instead of using the black. Hope this helps! Good work! :D

Hey Megan, great work! Your pages are so clean and neat they look very professional. I would maybe make GRC a little smaller so it's not competing for attention at the top. But overall, these are awesome!

Hi Megan,
I think you did a good job with your final designs. I love the background pattern you chose, it works well with your darker type and makes it all pop out better. I would work on the centering of some elements and aligning them equally, as well as changing your body type alignment to align left or forced left to make it easier to read, as well as making it slightly smaller or with a less bold font. Maybe you could've swapped the font for your name with the one for your body type. Overall, nice work!

Hi Megan!

Awesome job on your final designs, they look so clean and crisp! Everything is very easy to navigate, the orange in your image compliments the teal background really well too. Your typefaces are super fun but are a tad distracting, I'd stick to one or two of your favorites! :)
