Hey everyone,
Again my name is Liv and I like nature. I edited my layout from the weird spread out layout to something more simple and easy to follow. There was general consensus that the layout was the most troubling part of my first design so that's what I put most of my editing focus into. I also changed my font to calligraphy because I love that font but I'm hesitant to keep it up as it is so stylized and hard to pair with other fonts...
Some helpful sites I found for this project were:
https://wpastra.com/guides-and-tutorial ... te-design/
^ This website put emphasis on typography and reader legibility which I needed guidance on.
https://www.webfx.com/web-design/learn/ ... sign-tips/
^ This website again emphasized the importance of simplicity and gave tips on how to keep info simple and instead of using blocks of text, use links instead

Hey, Liv. It looks like your layouts are broken. I think becuase you posted them as TIFF files. If you could resave them as JPEGs, or PNGs or GIFs, then the forum will display them. Thanks!

Hi Liv,
I really want to see your designs! I'm just entering a comment now for the points in case you don't get a chance to re-upload them this week . Can't wait to see which design you went with.
~Updated after you uploaded the designs again! ~
Good work Liv! I can see where you're headed with your design and truly enjoy the calmness of your layout. If I were to add anything at this point, it might be to put a bit of color somewhere, maybe your name?...or a couple of elements to force the view to look around a little? But I totally get it if you want the simplicity as well, so obviously ignore me

Hi Liv,
You made a lot of changes! I think you made it a lot better in terms of legibility and readability. They're a lot easier to read and I think you created the flow by centering the headline and subheads. If you make the body type small caps and not italicized, I think it'll be a lot easier to read. For the mobile design, I'm not sure if the exporting process messed it up, but centering the pink box will help a lot too! Nice work!

Hi Liv,
I really like what you ended up with! The pictures of the plants in the back make this a really interesting design to look at and makes it feel all-natural. I think the only thing I would change here is the font for your name as its a bit difficult to read personally, much that might just be a me problem, and maybe centering the box on your mobile design would be a good change to eliminate that empty space on the side. Great job!

Hello Liv,
I think everything is working very well. I like the transparent color you chose to put the text in front of. It goes really nicely with the background. One suggestion from me would be to center the mobile rough. Good job.

Hey Liv! I really like the design that you ended up choosing, it look really good. I really like your background image and the font style that you have for your name. The only thing I would change is adding your contacts somewhere on your layout. Nice job!

Ah, good. You got your images up. I'm glad to see it.
Good use of transparency on your design! It lets your cool background image through without taking away from your content. I also like that you let your image supply the color and went with a clean black and white layout. I'm a sucker for good contrast and you certainly have that here. The way the image comes through your semi-transparent content area makes for some interesting visual patterns and interations. The whole thing is very modern. It reminds me of the waiting room at an architectural firm. Everything is clearly delineated. I like the way you use your header and logo and class info as framing devices on your mobile layout. Your navigation is easy to see and use.
I'm not sold on the gothic type for your headline text. It seems to clash with the clean technical layout you have here. You have a lot of room for content on both your computer and mobile layouts. I think it would have been better if you made your text look like a pullquote (i.e. quite a bit more leading, maybe a quote around it, etc.). Also, I think your logo and your class info text in the header could have been shifted inward to the left edge of your logo and the right edge of your class info were in line with the left and right edges of your black line. I think your margins are a little too broad. Everything is a bit scattered.
Good effort!

Hey Liv,
I think your font for your name really comes off well in contrast with your design. The layout overall is neat and simple and works pretty strongly. A critique I have is that I think you have too much empty space in your transparent boxes so I would tighten those up just a little bit.
Nice work!
