hello...
hello...
my name is Mark Pederson and I have been involved in graphics professionally since 1996. My background is in 3D animation and motion graphics but it is all self taught and mostly out of date knowledge. I am pursuing a degree in GRC in order to fill in the numerous gaps in my knowledge of design and in the hopes of finding a job that I can love and excel at. There are a lot more job paths in the design field than I had realized, so at this time I am feeling a little directionless (in a good way).

Cool. Use the GRC program like a sample platter and figure out what you want to do. It's fun to have a ton of doors open in front of you. From a web design perspective, the big growing field seems to be front end designer/developer. Depending on who you ask, that's either a designer who can code, or a coder who can design. Basically someone who makes pretty interfaces and front ends for the heavy duty applications and data driven platforms that the back end programmers are putting together. It's a good time to be getting in now that the web is exploding again, that's for sure.mawpe wrote:There are a lot more job paths in the design field than I had realized, so at this time I am feeling a little directionless (in a good way).
