Project 1 FINAL (╥_╥)

Post by rena_w0327 »

Hello everyone,

Before I explain myself I'd like to thank Michael for his commendations and support after learning the unnecessary amount of stress and work I mistakenly put myself through this past week. Last week I reached out to Michael asking for clarification on what we needed to turn in and when for the final project. He explained to me that I should polish my website design with the feedback from him and you, my classmates in mind and that in October we'd work towards making our designs legitimate websites.

Somehow I misread his wording and thought that I needed a website made by today. So I spent Monday the 30th until now coding with HTML and CSS. For context, I deal with computer troubleshooting consistently as someone who does digital art commissions with poor internet. Though coding is an entirely different beast, but I persisted through the frustration and stress to finish this assignment. Only to find out that we just need to improve our website visuals in Illustrator.

My website: https://astonishing-eclair-3ef4fa.netlify.app

So please if you have the time, any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated towards the work I did. All I want everyone to take away from this is to triple-check assignment details and prepare mentally for coding your own websites soon.

Because it's soooo awful that you found it within yourself to work so hard you are a full project ahead(!) of the rest of the class. ;)

A vertically focussed design is actually a pretty strong choice. It flows down decently well. I like your color choices as well. It has a desert feel to the whole thing. What I especially like are your gradients in your title text. They add a splash of plant life to your whole desert composition. Your navigation is easy to see and use. The subtle rollovers look pretty slick too. They're so soft. Love the sticky nav too. It allows you to navigate no matter how deep you are in the page. I like your high contrast footer that has some "important info" contained within. It's a good finisher for your content.

The biggest issue with the whole composition is that it's scattered all over the place and could use to have everything tightened up. Your margins are way too wide and so everything is fragmented. I actually like the more vertical focus, but you need to have some of your content below appear above the fold at the bottom of the screen to let people knopw to scroll down, like maybe the top of your portrait. Though I think your portrait would look better next to your content.

Good work! Now your task is to make this even better for Project Two and upload it to my server this time. :D

Hi Serena,
Well, I looked at your website and it's pretty nice, I wish I could have seen your layout before you coded this. I have no feedback for you other than to say you did a good job on your website.

Hi Serena,

You did a lot of work, and it paid off. Your site looks great, and I can see that you put a lot of effort into the details. I really like the way the bar changes colors when you hover over an email.

Great job,
Rebekah

Hey Serena!

I like that your design is on an actual website. That's pretty neat! I like the colors that you chose and the font choices looked nice together. Nothing left to say!

Uh, awesome mistake haha.
Hi rena! It wasnt fun but now its mostly over. Your site is really well done and the interactions are all mapped out!
I love your cats! What silly guys. If you want to put more work in, maybe incorporate your image more into the top of the page so people can see when they drop by.
Thank you and good luck!

Hi Serena!

I love the way this turned out the colors are very nice and pleasing while not being overly bright! Also cats :D! Super impressed with you making the whole site!

Have a good night!
