Project 2 Submission

Post by rena_w0327 »

Hi everyone sorry for such a late submission of Project 2. A medical scare came up for my mother and only now has she gotten treatment so my apologies for such a lack of work on my part. Here's my little website once more hopefully with better layout: https://astonishing-eclair-3ef4fa.netlify.app
I've realized making a highly stylized website takes a lot more effort than I anticipated originally.

I made the same realization... Its going to take a lot of work to make mine look like the initial idea. still, this looks cool! i like the movement when you hover over your hats and the loading bar thing on your email lol

Hi Serena!

I realized that too… absolute positioning was an absolute nightmare for me. I’m glad you were able to still make something nice and pleasing to the eye!
Thanks,

Hi Rena!

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but it was very fortunate that most of your work was already done. The cats are definitely my favorite part. Your website exudes personality and the colors are calming, great job!

Serena,

First, and most important, I'm sorry to hear about your mom; I hope she is doing okay!!

I like the look of your site. The colors are very earthy and calming. The subtle animations add a nice touch. And your cats are super cute, too!

I noticed that none of your links lead to anywhere... I don't know if that was a result of your situation or if there truly was no other content to show. However, I think you did everything pretty well.

Hi Serena.
I gotta say that i love your cats. I think they are the best part. I like how organized your website looks. The Hover over effect over the cats pictures works pretty good. I also struggled too with my website since I wanted to look stylized. Overall, you did a good job.

It's all good, Serena. Family comes first. I'm glad to hear your mother is getting the care she needs. Hopefully it all turns out for the best. *fingers crossed*

Ain't that the truth! It's a rewarding struggle that slowly drives you insane. But when you get one of these working properly, it's one of the best feelings ever.

Everything that was good about your Project One is here as well. That gradient is still as strong as ever and works well with your colors. Good contrast through the whole thing too. What I find most impressive is all of the neat technical details of the website. Everything from the sticky menu to the fact that the entire thing is friggin' responsive. And not just responsive, but smoothly so. You've set your media queries exactly where they need to be.

The whole thing is still a little scattered and could use to be tightened up. A lot of content is hidden below the fold out of view of the first screen. I think your large main image would have worked better centered. It's certainly works for the pics of your kitties. Though their title is a little difficult to see. I think it'd work better as a lighter color.

Not bad!

Hey Serena, I really struggled with trying to get the look of my website the way i wanted, as well! It was insane trying to trouble shoot, correct a thing, and have that mess up another part of the code. Overall i like your colors, and i think your layout is really nice!
