Hey Percy, i personally like both of these designs a lot! I love the theme of shapes in the second one and i love the mountain range of the first one. I think the layouts are nice and easy to understand. I think either would be great to turn into a final design!

Nice jagged mountains on that first one, Percy. That's the one I'd like to seen you explore further.
It uses contrast very well. That gray background makes for an excellent platform to showcase materials, both text and images. Everything pops off of it nicely. The mountains add great visual texture both by their shape and their mottled tints and shades of TMCC's green. They make for a nice footer and framing device for your content. I like your typography as well. The brush stroke headlines work well with the sans-serif bodycopy. It makes for good visual contrast and adds visual interest. The student work gallery is colorful and eye catching, which was clearly your purpose. Generally good margins as well. Nothing seems too tight or too loose.
Where will your navigation go? I see now text or hamburger. I'd recommend adding a little more top margin between your mountains and your content on your computer version so you get a nice spacing like your mobile version has. Maybe scoot your content up a touch so the gap is balanced between the mountains and your headline, like you do in your mobile version. I think your homepage could use a pic or two.
Good work!
