Hello,
After all of the feedback that I got I decided to go with my second design that has the drawing in the background. I felt like it came off more clean and I could maybe use it more long term, rather than the other. I decided to tone the purple down to make it fit the muted grey more. Once the website is real, I imagine there would be more pictures to scroll through, so I added the arrow buttons on the sides where you can click to go to the next or go back. Then I tweaked a few minor details throughout.
My two useful links are:
https://www.wix.com/blog/5-design-tips- ... ional-site
http://orbitmedia.com/blog/web-design-tips/
I have really taken what I have learned from these links and put it into my design. In the future I would really love to add a button with a dropdown menu and move the four buttons into that. Then, at the bottom would be an info panel like any other website.

Hey Kendra,
I love the addition of the side-scrolling buttons. It’s great how you’re planning for the future, and you could showcase your progress to viewers later on. The design really feels personal to you and leaves room for other projects. One thing I would recommend would be leaving a bit of a margin around your body text with the white box behind it, so the text has room to breathe. Loving the drawing and thinking that went behind this, nice work!

Hi Kendra,
I really like the overall layout of your website design, and the minimal color palette you chose as well. What makes your designs effective is that your background is so detailed with that sketch, but your links and info box are nice and simple. I also like the font you used for your name because it relays character. One thing I'd suggest is to maybe use a darker color for the purple header or make the background a little lighter, because it seems to strain the eyes a little. But other than that, I really like how your designs turned out!

Hey Kendra,
This is a really good final it's very simple, but straight to the point. Your types fit very well with your design and i really like the sketch use for the background of it. You did well on this using great placement for everything. Can't wait to see it on the web and interact with it.

I like the handcrafted aesthetic you have going on here, Kendra.
The shoe sketch makes for a great background image. It feels very personal and inviting. The rest of your layout is clean and presents it's information well. I like the use of the top bar as a framing device for your shoe background. Makes the image look a little like it's hung on a wall. The semi-transparent containers are a great solution to having your type get broken up by your image's texture. Typographically, it's working pretty decently as well. I especially like the fun lettering in your name/title at the top. Your navigation is easy to find and hopefully to use as well.
I'm not sold on the mauve top bar. I think it clashes with your grayscale aesthetic. It should appear in a couple other spots so it's not so jarring. Also, the padding on the bodycopy container is a little tight in your mobile layout. Your copy needed a little more room to breathe.
Not bad!

Hi Kendra,
I like that you decided to go with the design that includes your drawing it the background. It could also be interesting to keep updating it in the future with new drawings you end up doing to really showcase your art! I also really enjoy the fonts you chose for your name and your body paragraph, the name feels playful and cheerful and paired with the simple serif fonts works well together. I also like the idea of the arrows on the sides, it makes me excited to see how it works when you make it intractable! Good job on your design I cant wait to see the final result!

Hey Kendra!
The navigation is very well established, the aesthetic is outstanding, and it just feels like it is your website. I do have one small complaint and that is the colored top bar containing your name, it's unfortunately clashing with the rest of the design. Other than that, I really enjoy the design and will love to see what you do in the future!

Hello Kendra!
I like how you used the arrow buttons on the sides for future accessibility, I think that is a really unique feature. I also like how the sketch is the main focal point of the design because that makes it feel very personalized paired with the eye-catching font and purple color scheme. The only things I would change would be to make the arrows on mobile a tiny bit smaller and maybe try making the white textbox with your bio just a little bit opaque so we can really see your sketch in the background. Great job!

Hi Kendra,
The design looks very easy to navigate, and the idea that you'll add more images as you go sounds really cool. I like how you're planning for future ideas for your website, the only thing I saw that perhaps could be improved is the border of the text box.

Hi Kendra! I really like how you used hierarchy in your designs, leading from your name right to the links helps tell right where you want us to look! My one critique is that I'd like to see the purple used somewhere else in the design, it stands out a bit too much for me, maybe you could use it for the grc text or your introduction. Nice work!!
