Project 1 Preliminary

Post by DustDjinn »

Layout one: I choose to make this website cute but fancy at the time. The navigation is on the left side under the picture and my email. I choose a royal blue, gold and egg shell white for my color scheme.

Layout two: I choose to do a stylized web page using black, red, green and blue. The photo is on me and was the inspiration for the page. The clouds are the navigation bars. I found a font that gave a youthful feel.

My inspiration links are http://www.dribble.com and http://www.crowdspring.org. Dribble has a ton of different ideas from other people much like a pinterest, I can see things that are brand new or classically done on this site. Crowdspring is a site where designers can make designs for cash for other users. It provides designers a less stressful way to design without fearing of not pleasing the client because the client has several choices.

Hi Dustin, nice job on your roughs. I think the second one looks great, as far as choosing goes, it has a more uniform feel to it. It has nice cohesion throughout with your choice of colors and the images.

Nice work on both, Dustin. I like second one more than first one. Nice color choice and I like that kinda comic or carton style. Very cute dog on the first one. My suggestion go ahead with the second layout. Good job.

Dustin-
Both roughs are very unique and great in their own ways! They both have the same strong qualities to them. Too bad you can’t like edit your pug under your arm in the second one or like put yourself in the background of the picture frame as a gesture or something funny. Good job though-

The dog with the crown is a real scene-stealer, but to be honest I don't really like the rest of that design. I'm enjoying the graphic style you have going in your illustration and type on the second layout, and if you can somehow get the dog in there, I'd say it's a win-win all around! Seriously though, I feel like you have a good start here, but it feels far from done. There are too many elements missing at this point.

I'm going to agree with the crowd here, more pug! the second design is preferable, although I like the royal seal in the first. your self portrait is great. you might consider using three different cloud shapes, the repetition distracted me

Dustin,

Very creative designs. I like the second one more. Color, and design wise, it looks more "designer-ish" if that's a word. I'd make all your links be clouds (or words), to tie the whole package together.

I'm in agreement with everyone else. The second layout is more personal. The self portrait screams graphic designer and the color scheme is vibrant and has great contrast. Perhaps you might want to try moving some of the elements off the top line and seeing how it effects your layout.

Hi Dustin,

I agree with everybody else the second one is the best. It really expresses who you. I really like the idea of using the clouds as the links. Great job :D
