Project 3 Preliminary Critique (Rebecca Baumann)

Post by re8ecca »

As I worked on thumbnails for this project, I came to a couple of conclusions about how I wanted this to look.

First, I wanted to use a flat design style.
Second, I wanted to use the TMCC color palette.
Third, I wanted to incorporate icon-like illustrations.

So, my two layouts below aren't really different concepts, but rather two different layouts/compositions that use these same concepts in each. Which one works the best for you?

Heya Rebecca.

Very nice! They're both super professional looking, though I'm leaning towards the first design. The big eye is a great focal point and I like the use of the colored columns and whitespace on the right side. I'm not sure how well putting sublinks in those columns will work on your inner page, but I'm curious to see how you'll translate it to HTML.

Nice Work as usual! I like your second design better because even though both designs are really good, but they look similar to one another. However, your second design has more graphics and nice colors, plus it has a good balance and excellent contrast; as well as readability and legibility. Congrats one more time. :D

Hi Rebecca!

I love them both! If I have to choose one, I think the second one with the scroll feature is going to be amazing. Your choice of color and graphics is spot on for the project and I can't wait to see it completed! :)

I'm loving the use of white instead of black for the website and I have to commend you on your use of colors.
Great job as always.

Hi Rebecca.
Once again great work on your roughs. Both look amazing. Me personally I'm leading more towards the second layout it has a great vocal point and the color scheme is great and layout looks professional, clean and easy to read! Can't wait for the final product :)
