I have to say that your second one is very exciting and catches the attention well! Though you might want to reconsider your text decorations, it's a bit hard to read and as Dan has beat into us all many times, typography is important.

Yes I definitely think I like the more colorful layout. But the circles might be throwing me off just a little- maybe they are "competing" too much with your colorful header graphic?

The color splash concept works quite well. I would agree with Rebecca that giving your headline some equal weight by making it a bit more legible will help. Very nice.

Totally torn between the excellent choices! I like the structure of the first layout, but not the colors. I really like the design of the artsy one, but I have no idea how you're gonna make it work. Great job, I like surprises!
