Preliminary Critique for project 1 :D

Post by eric_sallender »

Hey class, here are my roughs for project one. The brighter of the two represents me a little more, being a GameBoy of sorts that shows my work. The smaller boxes are tabs in which you can click on to view the various images of my work. You can also use the arrows on the bottom half of the GameBoy to highlight an image and use the "A" button to select it.
The second is a bit more simple, only having tabs to click on. I would like to have the tabs slowly move away from the center when hovering over them.
Let me know what you think :D And keep in mind that these are still very rough, but I would love to hear what everyone has to say!

I like #2. Just drop the graphic down and give it some space.

As charlie said, the 2nd one is really nice, and drop the menu down some to use up some of that open space there. Fix some of the text as well, so it feels like they are apart of the graphic, and not just placed ontop of the objects.

I'm liking the idea of the 1st concept. I, too, did a sort of game design web page... So I'm digging the idea. With the second rough, I do like the nice 3D elements you had put in it. I'm not sure if you had an idea with filling in the empty space of the 2nd page but I think it could be a lot more effective if you had something going on there.

Nice Job!

Your fist design is a cool idea but it is a little static. The second one has a cool flow to it. You will need some content below it so you'll need a good transition to that. Using color maybe?

Eric-

I like both of them but lean more toward the bottom one. I think that the font on the bottom one could use a little more color to pop off the button but over all great job!

The second composition seems more put together, but the top one is a cool concept. Maybe you could use more imagery in your second design, but the video game idea seems like a more fun design to do.

Hi Eric! I'm liking your first design more than the second one! I like the colors you used and omg is that a gameboy or an ipod?! I can't tell haha.
Anyway, I think it's looking good so far but i'm finding the bottom left and right corners a little too empty. Are you going to put anything there? If not then maybe moving the mountains a bit lower would help. Either way, good job!
