The gaming menu idea is very unique and interesting, I like the GRC175 font and the colors. The only thing I'd suggest is changing and enlarging your type fonts for the bounding boxes. Seem a little dull and small for the overall theme of the composition.

I picked the second option, just because it is soemthing different, and sounds like you are exsided abot that one. It is always better to work on the project that exsided you. Honestly, I am not complitly cleared on the whole consept, (the navigational layout), I would have to see it running.
My question is, when a visiter will come to the site will he be able to get the mesadge you want them to get? Will the visiter be able to get the sence of YOU? I like the simplicity, but I would add something there that would would represent better who are you as a designer. I hope this made sence...

Hm. I like your first one better than your second. The first design has such a neat distressed burnt wood texture and I really like the typography in your GRC 175 logo. Unfortunately, you loose that typography with the "New Game Load Game" text. I'd like to see more consistent typography throughout.

I also like the "four box" layout structure on your first design, though I would continue the texture into the borders and faintly into the background of each box (maybe black wood for those). Also, watch your margins in the boxes some of your type is drifting perilously close to the edge, particularly with your titles.

Your second design has a fun, cheeky, quality to it, but there's a little too much "mystery meat" going on there. It needs to have more things clearly labeled so as not to confuse users.

All in all, a pretty strong first design that will, with a bit of tweaking make quite a nice website indeed.

I think that the second design would be to complicated and make me not want to go to it. So my vote is for Number 1.

I really like the first design better. It has nice colors and the texture of it is really nice. The second idea is really nice and unique but a little too plan I suggest maybe adding a background image if you plan on using that one just to add something more for the eyes to look at.
