Hey there Elizabeth! This is just hilarious and over the top! It's great

I'm liking the 2nd rough a tad more just because I'm finding the imagery more appealing I suppose. Nice use of transparencies - gives the page an interesting texture. Also, your font choice is great in that it seems to elicit a serious and reliable tone with the sans serif "Burlington News" and then you play with a fun character font as the nav buttons.

One thing I suggest changing is maybe you can employ the layout of the inner page of the 1st rough to the inner page of the 2nd? I just feel it's better organized and possesses a sense of hierarchy that the 2nd lacks. Otherwise, great job!

I enjoy layout 2, that background image really sells the whole alien experience. One thing i recommend is possible find a different font for your title. Something that compliments your background would be really cool and of course you can always warp your title in photoshop.

I'm leaning towards your first one. I like the background a lot better than the second and overall design. It seems more towards what the page is all about and more prominent than the second. I feel that the 2nd may be too generic.... i think thats the word i'm going for xP

Although i get the concept of the second design, with the corn field, I like the top design better. To me outer space looks a little better.

It is hard to pick, both of them look good. They look so much better then original site, you organized everything very well, created good interface in both of the layout, which ever you would go with it will be a great improvement! Great work!
