Hi, Everyone!

Post by moserary »

It's me, Rosemary Padgett. Some of you I recognize from other classes as I've been on this journey since around 2008!

As a part-time student, full-time employee, new wife and empty-nester (finally!) to three daughters and a grand-daughter, life is full! This is my 33rd year with what is now NV Energy; I'm currently a Customer Service Rep in the Gas Emergency Dispatch office.

My interest in GC evolved from "old school" secretarial training. I love setting up documents, making them pretty and interesting. The onset of the PC (I can relate to Dan's stories here) made these tasks all the more magical and opened up so many more possibilities!! Since I'm getting close to being able to retire, this degree is both a personal goal and an effort to do a better job for my two favorite Community Service opportunities: Sheep Dip,Inc. and Comstock Civil War Re-Enactors.

Gosh, did I just write the paragraph for my website..?

Anyway, it's great to be back in class and looking forward to all the amazing creativity! Oh, and I must challenge Cindy's claim to be the oldest...

I think you did just write your website paragraph. A nice bit of double dipping there. ;)

Welcome to the class Rosemary. I think your experience in document setup will really help you here. Web design is, at it's heart, fancy page layout and your page layout skills will translate over pretty well I think. Feel free to ask questions of me and your fellow students and enjoy your time in class.
