I much prefer the second one over the first. The Sandy blue one. It looks a less retro than the first one and the color scheme is nicer. The composition of how the layout was made is appealing and information looks easier to find. You did well to choose your fonts as they mesh well with the theme and are easy to ready. I don't really see much wrong with it.

I enjoy the stripped background of the second and I really like the idea of spotlight on the left side. I am not sure how i feel about the dog peeking out the top. I would maybe place with the positioning of him.

What a mercy for them you found their site! Your second design is my choice. The color scheme is so pleasing and all the images and type are easy to see. Keep it up!!
