Hi Everyone!
Hi Everyone!
I'm Kirsten, I'm an AAS CIT-Web Development Emphasis major. I am very close to completing my degree, but TMCC recently cancelled the last four classes I need and haven't come up with alternatives yet, so I'm starting to feel like I may never finish! This is the first GRC class I have taken, since it is the only one required for my degree, so I don't have any GRC experience. I've never even used Photoshop before honestly I'm excited to learn some new things on the more creative side and take a break from programming!

Re: Hi Everyone!
Welcome to GRC 175 in particular and graphics classes in general, Kirsten. If you have any questions on design terminology or process, don't hesitate to ask me or any of your fellow students to explain something we seem to gloss over. We'll be doing quite a bit of Photoshop in this class, so you should be pretty decent with it by the time we're done with class. If you find you like this design stuff, let me know and I'll recommend some classes for you to take to get familiar with it.

Hi, Kirsten! Looking forward to seeing your work! To chime in with Michael, one resource I recommend for newbies to design is the book the Non-Designer's Design Book by Robin Williams. It's a classic, and I give it out to all the young designers I work with in my advertising and marketing work at the University. Good luck in class! --DB
