Hey Joe!
Both of your layouts work well! The color scheme and images are successful! However, I am leaning towards the "home feel" one. It does feel "homier" and "warmer" like pizza lol. The only thing I suggest is to align the text on the menu with the Salads and Calzones. Other than that, great job!

Hi Joe,
I enjoy both of your designs very much. My only complaint about the wood one is that the white bar at the top seems too stark, it doesn't seem to meld with the rest of the design. What I mean is that it looks too cut out, like you forgot to put something there. Maybe add some texture to it, or choose a tone taken from the wood photograph? I like the homepage with the photograph and the menu, both have really good font and color choices, and the layout is nice and easy to read.
The second design is also very nice, it has good, bright colors and some nice texture. I especially like how you implemented the sun logo in this design, and how the rest of the theme fits in with it. I'm not super familiar with this business so I'm not sure what kind of aesthetic they want to present. The top design with the food is very hipster and chic, very modern. The bottom one with the orange seems like it would appeal to an older crowd, more mellow people. So depending on what image you think the business should present, that's the one I would pick.
Good job.

I think both designs are very good, but I'm definitely more drawn to the second one. I like that the logo is centered, with plenty of space and the color scheme is more contemporary. I think the color is fresh and more upscale, and I really like the texture, giving it a bit of an organic feel. The monochromatic look gives it a very unified feel, tying in nicely with their logo, whereas on your first design, with the wood background and small logo I almost have to hunt for the name of the restaurant.

Bolth layouts are warm and welcoming. The second one has more pictures and makes me more hungry so I would go with the second one because it has more pictures and makes me the hungriest.

Out of the two you've posted, I like your first version better. It's a textbook example of using texture to add visual punch to a clean, simple layout. The scarred cutting board immediately brings to mind making food. I can almost smell a good pizza joint looking at it. The wood background second one seems disjointed with odd margins and proximity.
The photo collage on the home page of the first version does a fantastic job of bringing the user right into what the business is about. It's got great shots of both pizza and sides that make the user hungry and does more to advertise what this is all about than any amount of words. I like the logo and the colorscheme as well. They reinforce the theming and create hunger in the user (orange's mind control power). The type is well chosen and works with the theme nicely. Your navigation is large and easy to use.
Watch the margin between the logo and the navigation on the inner page. It's much tighter than the home page and creates a crowded look. I also don't think the orange stripes are necessary behind your menu section titles. If you want to keep them, center the type in all of them and then give them a bit of padding so the type doesn't smack into the edge of the orange box. Also, maybe drop a few pictures in your menu page.
Nice work, Joe.

Good job Joe! These both turned out really well. The imagery works really great with both designs but I think I like your warm orangey design a little better. It is more inviting and I like how the images work with your warm color scheme. The only thing I can see that you can play with is the welcome on the home page. It gets a little lost. Im not sure if making it 100% opaque and dropping the opacity on the images would work better but that might help. Great job with your designs. Way better than the original site!

I like both your designs although the second one is my fave. The colors you have chosen for both designs works well together.

Both designs are great, but I prefer the first one, and might argue that it feels more 'homey' to me than the second. I love the wood texture, it's warm to me and reminds me of a wood fired pizza oven, and sitting at a cozy wood table eating that pizza! I might try putting a texture or something in the white space. I like that it is bright and adds contrast against the wood, but it does look stark. I really like the pops of orange for the menu items, it's a great color combo that catches my eye.

Hey Joe!
Both of your designs are pretty good! I have to say I like your second design a bit more. I would move the type on your pictures below the pictures though. It might just be me, but I've always found the white type over pictures hard to read. I also think it would be interesting if you see how the wood panel texture works on your second design. But I like the way you laid out the menu. The only thing I would change on that is moving the salad menu so it lines up better with the calzones menu. Hopefully that made sense lol. Overall nice designs! good job!
