Your site really reminds me of a 90's gaming/rave party, very interesting. So far I'm not really favoring one site over the other but as Lauren said it may work to combine both concepts. Other than that I think you should work on you typography and body copy to in order to bring more attention to the information you are trying to communicate.

Hello Ryan

First things first I think it's good to do research for projects. That way you can get lots of different ideas down. Both of you designs looks pretty similar so I agree with what Lauren said on how you can kinda mesh both ideas together.

I like the character in the second idea and I think it's cute if you based your colors around the character. I would get rid of the boxes though cause the high saturated color against your black type makes it difficult to read. I'd also play around with a more read able type for your body copy. Gradient background is nicer and more easy on the eyes than the lined background.

I like the cartoon one also, it has more contrast between the background and content. The font is not my favorite, and I would remove the box around the contact box I think to simplify it a bit.
Your other design is good too, i like the actual picture of you. I feel like it's too busy and imbalanced though.

I really like your colors here they are fun and light and I really like the little illustration you have in your second design. As for my critique I'd say lose the boxes with the borders i think you can use less of them throughout the designs and still have something that is effective.

I like the colors used in both of your sites. The first site could be improved by decreasing the font size on your paragraphs. I like the use of the character in your second design and is easier to read.
