Oooooh, I really like that Beatnik second design, Ryan.
It does a great job of breaking out of the "boxy" look that a lot of websites fall prey to and that's entirely on that swoop to the left. It looks like a cubist painting of a palette with little daubs of paint on it. It looks good with your logo in it on the mobile design. I like the high contrast you've employed here as well. It's not just the black and white, but also the vivid colors you've chosen. They really create a bright, joyous vibe for the whole website. Good choice of the fonts as well. I like the interplay between the black headline and the light bodycopy and navigation. Your navigation is easy to see and use. The light type also compliments your logo nicely as well. Justifying the type sure paid off well. It turns the type into a design element and really anchors the left side. Good use of margins through the whole thing, too. It gives a great sense of proximity and groups your objects nicely.
Add a little space between your bodycopy paragraphs. Right now, they run together.
