Hello,
I like that you chose this design, it seems to fit you conceptually and I like the way the red contrast of skin tone in the photo also brings the image forward on the page as it clashes with the background. For your design I was thinking that some effects on the page would help separate your elements and the page itself, I worry that this initial design, used in other pages on the site might limit your layout capability. I do however love the simplicity of the concept and the way it harkens back, yes I just said harkens, to the days of BBSs and core information sites of old, it's a nice conceptual contrast between old school look with new school capabilities. Excited to see where it ends up, good luck.
James

hey Kevin I really like your final designs. I think that the mobile rough has a lot of empty space down underneath the text, I feel making your font larger you could eliminate all that empty space. I also miss the giraffe dog lol.

Hey Kevin,
Even though the dog/giraffe concept was very entertaining, I do like this concept as well! What I enjoy the most from these designs has got to be the clean and minimal look, everything appears organized and well-spaced out--letting the user navigate through your website effortlessly. Great work! The only things that irk me in a sense are: the weight of your paragraph (I do think that if you change the font to something thinner, it won't discourage the user from reading it as it does now) and your photograph down below (similar to Yen's, I think you could have had the full photograph as is in the design's composition to help with the layout instead of cutting out your image solely). But other than that, I'd say you followed the project's requirements well and created a design that I can imagine being a fully functional website! Good job!

Hi Kevin

I like that you have chosen a simple layout to make the site easier to navigate, and while I am a fan of your type the navigations tab type feels squished.

Hey Kevin,
Like how your design came out. Very clean design, I would have thought you might have cropped your image abit different on the bottom. Great color choice,. I think your font is a little too bold for my liking. Otherwise great job.

Hi Kevin!
I l like how your layout shows your personality! I think your use of expressive type paired with your background makes your design one of a kind. I do wonder if your body copy font works for readability or if something less bold would be easier on the eye. Nice design!
