I too have really enjoyed Amy. I think part of the magic with Rose though was the love interest between her and The Doctor. The Doctor cares for Amy as much as any of his other companions, but there was something special between him and Rose, IMO.

Caveat: I'm speaking now of David Tennant's Doctor. I think the relationship between Chris Ecclestein's Doctor and Rose was more or less about the same as most companions and The Doctor. (Side note: I really enjoyed Chris Ecclestein's portrayal. )

I need to create or find something that just lights up blue on the end (10th doc) for my son. Hes only 5, so really I could get a away with a tiny flashlight that turns blue..
