Really good use of font, it would make Dan very happy. The simple shapes in the first one makes it the winner, I think.

And here we have yet another case of two great designs to pick from. I like the first one a bit better. I find it more visually interesting and colorful. I like that it's being used as a platform to display images and text with either overwhelming your content or vanishing behind it. I also prefer it's typography (single line buttons, using size to convey boldness, etc.).

I prefer the version of your second design that you emailed me (you really should post it here). It fixes most of the issues I have with your posted second design. Put it up so the class can give their opinions on it as well.

I actually prefer the first design over the second. THe colors really make the site pop out without being overpowering, and they work very well together.

Really interesting, definitely holds a sense of your style.

I think your second design is a little stronger with the space between the header, body, and navigation.
