Truly lovely designs. I'm drawn to the first one; it's artistic and unique. I think I prefer the bottom left bg color (more taupe). The buttons on the top right feel a little obscured. One solution might be to bring them in a level, that is put them to the left of the fish-inspired images. Plus, the fish images might have a nice framing effect on the ride side of the page. Very beautiful!

I like how your first design is so organic, which is not usual for the web. It's very unique, maybe cherry blossom buttons would be a cool touch?

I like them both, leaning towards the second one. I like the layout and color, too much negative space on the bottom left

Very clever use of art work with the fish and bubbles. Also like the leaf effect on the other design, but find the fish motif much more pleasing to the eye.

Whinona-
I like both. A lot. The top one is more expressive and interesting but the bottom one is cleaner and more contrasting to the eye. Maybe try adding a little color to the top on the BG? Great job!

The top right version of your first design is more flowing to me. Your P1, P2 and P3 buttons look nice but it seems like there should be just a bit more to them. Rollover transitions on them would be a nice effect.

I like the top design a bit more, the artistic touch with the water color and koi fish look great. Maybe make your buttons a bit bigger though?

Its hard to pick between these two, but i think im going to have to settle on the first on. The first is more graphically appealing and even though the navigation is on the right, i thin it works for your design. One thing you might look in to is some how adding another graphic to your design. I'm curious to see what that will look like.

I'm really digging your first design, specifically the one with the white background. It has such a sense of artistic style and the sumi-e inks just pop on that white background. I also like the flow it has, both in layout and the flow of the brush strokes on the design itself. The ultra-high contrast really helps move the eye throughout the design.
I'd try left aligning your bodycopy. I'm not sure center aligned bodycopy would read all that well. Also, watch your margin on your subtitle, both under "GRC 175" and in the upper right corner.
Otherwise that is truly some excellent work and I look forward to seeing the finished product!

I really like the top design- inside that- the bottom left one, with the reddish background, it looks as if it is on paper to me. Great job!
