Matt-
I really like that they are two completely different designs! I am more drawn to the second one though. I think I like the colors more. The logos on both are down well but I am still drawn to the bottom design. Great job!

I like the layout of the Blue Logo one. It looks no so much as a first website. So I think that it would be better for you, as it would represent you more positively.

I like the 2nd one. Create some buttons and make the photo pop out more, it's pretty subdued.

Hello Matt! Nice work. You have two great concepts; however, considering the purpose of this site we are assigned to create, I feel your 2nd rough would be more suitable. I agree that it's looking a little too symmetrical, but that can easily be fixed by fully utilizing the space of the bottom portion of the layout. Maybe make the elements slightly larger and with variation in scale to create more visual interest.

I like the first layout better, when I look at the second one I cant help to see a business card. One thing that I would maybe change in the first one is spread the gray columns you have on each side, and make them less fat, cause as of now it looks to boxed in and columns are overpowering your work that you have inside.

ps. my grammar sucks, make the best of it

I enjoy the second websites color design. It keeps a more technology based flow to the web page. Also the SWD graphic works better in the second one. Only thing that you might want to change is the size of your design company name.

Yikes! Put the Photoshop styles down and back away slowly. ;)

You've got some good layouts here Matt, but I have to scrape off the Photoshop styles with a palette knife to see them.

Personally I prefer the first one. I like the columnar look. It reminds me a bit of the circa 2006 Xbox 360 Blades interface. I like the diagonal logo and panorama top banner. Make sure that your button text is all the same size. I think the typeface choice works well for the buttons and headlines. I'd probably use a medium, regular, or light version for the bodycopy though. I'd also rip off all the Phtoshop texturing and add them back in very teeny tiny amounts. A lot goes a long way. Maybe a metallic red texture on your logo and a slight background gradient.

The second design isn't bad either, with the same texture cleaning, it could be a super clean, high contrast website. The layout and design feel a bit like a radio station website to me though. I think your first is more unique.

You've got yourself a very good start here and now that we've had this styles intervention, I expect this site will look quite good in it's final form. Go for it!

I really like the first design. The red really pops out and the texture you used looks great. My suggestion would be to maybe widen the whole content area because to me it looks a little squished and narrow so maybe widen the whole thing up just a bit.

I'll have to agree with the rest of the class and say that I love the first concept :) The colors work well with each other and the ease of navigating your page is a plus. Good job!
