These are some great roughs. Both of them are pretty equal, and I don't know which one I prefer.

One of the great things about the first layout is the repetition of squares throughout the design. The logo is very, very nice, but I'm not particularly fond of the font you chose for your name, or of the angle you've placed it. The light blue box that overlaps the footer is great because it ties those two elements together, something I think is missing from the header.

The portrait of the second rough is great, because it humanizes the website and makes it easier to relate to. I think the background color should match that of the image exactly; the slight difference kind of breaks up the image unnecessarily. I think the text box is a little bit too big, and the footer gets a little too close around the TMCC logo.

Whichever rough you end up choosing, I think you'll have some nice directions to take it. I can't wait to see the final!
