this is hard one to pick, I very like both of them. I like that you dont like boxses and taht you went for something invoting. Since I like both of them, I say keep both of them , they do look like they can belong together. How about this as an idea: Lets say the page with doll can be your home page, the board that is hanging on the wall can be that window you have on your second design, and you can make buttons on the doll's dress as your navigation buttons, or ether the blox, or make the doll to hold balloons/etc as your navigational buttons or anything else u like....When you click on one it will take you to the page let say for example named "about me" where you have your second design "purple window" will appear with the text about you. ( it will be consistent, since u have that same window on ur front page) , you can design your pages as zoomed in different parts of the room. I also like a little TMCC logo that is sitting on the shelf on the left corner, very quite, maybe you can reuse it enlarged in your "contacts" page ...and so on with reusing rest of the room in your other pages....I hope what I wrote made sense, and you can see the vision that I was trying to explain through my bad grammar..lol
