Wow! This concept is coming along quite nicely. This was not what I had expected based off of your preliminary work. The doll is incredibly rendered and I think you accomplished your goal of telling a story visually. Also, the addition of the coloring book and crayons is a great way to utilize that space and adds depth. One thing to change - I do agree that the body copy is a little difficult to read. Maybe it's the position of it. I do like the angle but perhaps you can make it less drastic so it's more legible.

The crayons look like a different style than the rest of the page, but other than that, it is very cute and works well with the color you used. I can totally see a baby crawling by and grabbing the doll Great job Kami!

This is really cute, and goes along with your info box saying that you want to design interactive story books. Maybe your type in the lower left hanf corner should be more predominant and larger...
