Hi everyone, here are my roughs project 2. The poorly designed website I chose is https://www.doughboysreno.com. Unfortunately the quality of their donuts is not conveyed well on their website, so I tried to make it modern while still being personable.
I was inspired by https://thesodashop.com/ and https://www.thebakedbear.com/, along with many other not-so-poorly designed websites.
Two competitors include:
https://www.dunkindonuts.com/en
https://thedapperdoughnut.com/reno-sparks/
Any suggestions for improvement is appreciated! I'm gonna go have a donut now.

Nice Layouts! I like the font, it encompasses the personality of the original site. I like the first one, it's visually stronger and make me want to buy a dozen doughnuts. My only suggestion would be to spice it up a bit more, doughnuts are lot of fun. May be sprinkles in the background are illustrated doughnuts or something like that. Good job!

Mmmm, doughnuts ...

I like your "rough-2"s myself. It's the bigger pictures. Pictures really go along way to selling a product or service and this one has 'em in spades. Especially the limited content front page. It's just saying "Look at our doughnuts. LOOK AT THEM!". And then it tells you where to find them. I like the hidden navigation as well. Usually, it's only really good for phone navigation where space is at a premium, but you use industry standard hamburger graphics so people will instantly know how to trigger it. I like your colors as well. They are soft and distant and let your doughnut photos provide the color. And yet they have enough contrast not to get lost in a pastel blob. Pretty good use of margins too. Everything seems to be in it's place.
I DON'T KNOW IF YOU NEED ALL OF YOUR INNER PAGE TEXT IN CAPS. SEEMS KIND OF SHOUTY TO ME. Also, watch the top and bottom margins on your inner page footer.
Nicely done!

Re: Project 2 Roughs
These are both really great. Although the first design is eye catching, I almost think that the second is going to be a little more functional because people who are going to the website just need information on menu or address etc. so I really like the second design, its so well put together and has all the information right there-either way both are great!

The images are so wonderful, I am a huge fan of full screen food! I like the first choice because the location on the page where the work hours and the google map icons (with donuts!) are located. Maybe add a more doughnut inspired font? When the hard information is all in the same space in the footer it isn't as interesting.

I like the bottom designs better, very clean and organized. Good Job!

Oh delish! I like all of these. The first ones the best. But dang, they all look good. I don't have anything to add... you done good!
Re: Project 2 Roughs
Awesome as always I think you should do the rough 2 since it incorporates more of the doughnuts but is still easy to read and navigate.

I love your first set of design! It is really clean and easy to find information. I do know not all the letters need to be capitalized or not. I would not capitalize everything.
